I have ever bashed no hondas, I actually owned more of them than I've owned toyotas! In any event, why do you have to act all childish and start something on a perfectly sensible thread? Just because it on the ole talk forum? Well I wish you well with dat attitude pal. You see me using cuss words and all them emoticons? So why say I am getting all emo? Maybe your childhood was normal, but it still doesn't show that you've grown up .......yet. |

.Slow yuh roll dey fadda! Three emoticons and NO curse words! It's called ole talk for a reason. If you want a serious discussion on Toyota's apparent abandoning of their high performance engines, try the Toyota Forum! Childish you say? Who took a good natured poke of fun at Toyotas into a personal attack on something which you know absolutely nothing about? |

| AFAIK Yamaha still does engines for Toyota, and whilst I agree it's the ole talk forum, it's still an automotive website, I'm sure there could be more valid contributions from all |

Erm....vtec boy, yamaha never MADE anything for toyota, them just designed the heads.
I still have no respect for Skylines in front of Supras...yuh see, nissan reached a point where in order to keep the power to the ground, they needed to put it to all 4 wheels instead of just 2!
I have yet to see a production 4WD Supra.
Anyway, can a mod move this thread to the Toyota forum? It'll better serve for intelligent discussion over there. |

| Not even the BEAMS 3sge. Only the original 3s-ge was TUNED by Yamaha and the 3S-GTE/1JZ-GTE/2JZ-GTE head was DESIGNED by yamaha. Everything was BUILT by Toyota Japan. |

| over this weekend i was talking to the guys at toyota and toyota japan offered them a new 2009 corolla with a 2.2 liter engine, they said most likly no they wouldnt be accepting the offer to sell the car becuase trinidad doesnt hav the maket for it and that they hav a few 2zz corollas there and no 1 is rushing them and an other reason that they wouldnt be accepting the offer to get these cars is mainly becuz the price would be to high, as the 2zz rolla is 210k i think and the new 2.2 may be over the price of the avensis ( btw the new avensis that they gettin nex yr sucks arse but i think it may feature there new line of engines) same as for the 2.2 corolla cuz i am still waiting to hear from them wats the engine that they would be putting in it as i hope it would be the dual vvti valvematic engine....as for other high hp monsters from toyota i think that they hav shifted to more R&D for hybrid and hybrid sports...........btw from nex yr the 2.2 corolla can be special ordered from tttl |

| ok fair is fair. nobody expects more performance for less money. but if i'm paying 210K for a corolla. for crying out loud there has to be something about it that will make me pass up an evo VII which is alot cheaper and probably 100 times easier to get aftermarket support for. early toyotas were good right out of the box. the celica gt4's the supra. the 20 valve blacktop 4AGE etc etc. these were powerplants that you could have fun with and not do a single upgrade. What you find is that newer offerings from toyota in the performance arena are not at all competitive and are sometimes more expensive than other brands with significantly better engineering and performance. that doesnt bode well. yuh dig? |

^ i understand wat u mean
gt4 - jus amazing
supra- still amazing and by far 1 of the best motors in the world i mean this monstar was made way back when even b4 the r33 and up to date this power house still takes on r34's
20v - them lil crazy motors
and to me honestly the 2zz is marvelous engine 1.8n\a making 190hp
but as stated so much times in this thread toyota shifted focus from petrol engine perfromance and now developing petrol engines to save on gas and give off less emissions...
now we jus hav to wait and see wat the future holds atleast there is the lexus LS-F and the LF-A....TRD aurion and FT-HS ( really hope this car does well) |

| ^^agreed, in my opinion Toyota has priced themselves out of the game, I went to TTL to order the new Camry and the price I was quoted for the LE was $347,500.00 and the V6 $487,000.00 at those prices I'm looking @ BMW's and Audi's simply because I will have a better marque, I love Toyotas and I've owned quite a few but for a personal car I'm giving serious consideration to buying either an EVO or an STi simply because of the aftermarket support and availability of parts |

| another issue is TTL's attitude towards the Trinidad & Tobago market apparently we're not sophisticated enough, I remember approaching them about the new Lexus with the hybrid engines and they told me they will not be importing them, I'm waiting on the launch of the LF-A to approach them again and see what they say |

^ i wouldnt be surprise if alot of toyota men jump ships, in a way cant really give them wrong, but at the end of the day the most i would stray from toyota is to lexus ( that mightnt even happen cuase them expensive) and well i dont saving from now for the car that subaru and toyota come together to make
btw CL101 who did you deal with at TTTL |

Most new cars are way overpriced including Toyotas and Hondas. 200K+ for what?
If'n I had that kinda money I'd go for an EVO VIII or STi. We have to understand that the days of the "economy performance" are over! |
