There are reds for the Levins, that must be really killer!! The hawk pads looking like they'll come in a bit cheaper than the EBC pads. And I think Legals said 450 for the front set (not for the corolla tho.....some other car).

I think i'll try the reds. I'm hearing pretty good things bout them. Heard from a few guys that the ebc greenstuff are a bit on the squeaky side.

^^Ent reds if full track application. Ah cah remember who here had tried a set of ebc reds....but they said they had to raise the temp on that pad so high to get some reasonable stopping power

ebc reds are for the strip....not good for daily driver as they will eat your rotors away in no time at all.....the yellowstuff is an excellent option though, but much more pricey than the hawk hps.

As much as I have been a Honda person, I also have built quite a few Toyotas too!!

The list is a follows:

- Vehicle: TAU Hilux 4x2 4 door.
Engine: 22R Block, 20R head ported, Cam, Mikuni 44 side drafts, Doug Thorley headers etc

- Vehicle: TAY Hilux 4x2 4 door
Engine: 2Y engine. Started out at 5200rpm redline, ended up at 8500rpm and with 11.5:1 CR, Side drafts, headers, custom cam etc.

- Vehicle: MR2 supercharged
Engine: 4AGZE converted to turbo, at 20psi

- Vehicle: Corolla wagon DX
Engine: 5EFE turbocharged at 10psi stock block, ported head etc.

Hopefully a few more projects to come within the Toyota Camp Smile

Kirk

Depends who you go to. I usually do the porting myself.

I would guess around $900+

Mr. Fixables, Were you get a 20R head? Can a 21R-u head work on the 22R block? I think that the 22R head is kinda restrictive. Seems like you have some experience with this. Link meh nah

My bad, I typed in 4efte when I actually had the 5efe turbocharged. It supported 10psi from a t28 with no problems.

The 20R, 21R, and 22R head/blocks are interchangable, the 20R head flows best, not sure how the 21R compares to the 22R. I guess you can search for ToyotaNation etc and go on the forums. That was a looong time ago. Unfortunately, due to much rum consumption, I can't remember these things anymore Very Happy

Porting a 4Age pays dividends only if you have a flow bench to verify that the work was done correctly and that you actually still get good pressure rates through the head ,by not enlarging the cross section too much to trade airpseed for Volume. "G" heads are done nicely from toyota , so its recommended that the ports be just polished up to smooth the airpath in the ports.

u can turbo the 7a or drop in a 3sge or 3sgte without the need for mods as i believe those cars have the mount positions already drilled.

jeromey that means that your car comes with toyota ECT sport tranny

in economy you would burn less gas

in power the tranny holds the gear for longer and lets u rev a bit higher than normal...burns a bit more gas but give u a bit more revs and power to play with

also as its a caladina a 3sgte would be a direct bolt up...there is a guy on the forums selling one u can contact him

^^^^the engine may be a direct bolt up but afaik, his caldina is not awd. Hence, he will still have the problem the fwd celica guys face.

I tink u mean 7a block and 4age head which will give u a 1.8litre 20v. Forged pistons & rods, metal head gasket, 20v stage3 cams wit springs, solid lifters,1mm oversized valves, GT35R turbo, FMIC, Full engine management, etc etc. Withdraw $40k and go brave.
