Does anyone know how often does the timing belt needs to be changed.
Last time I changed it was back in august 2005 and the mileage was 70,277 now the mileage is 92,385. I have a Ck4 Lancer Mitsubishi.
Any thoughts anyone.

Every 100,000km or 60,000 miles. There may also be a time limit, but I can't remember what it is.

I just changed mine today after doing almost 61000miles. My issue here is that I thought I would be able to get this belt easily in St.Lucia. Was I wrong. The vehicle is down two days now. I had to remove so many things to get to the front end. I didn't want to take a chance and have it burst on me cause I know it would cost me my arms and legs to replace the valves and pistons, among other things. Rght now I have a new belt and new tensioner ( i didn't cater for this one) and I hope not to be in the engine for the next two years.
