|
|
Looking to build/buy a car for rally, actually, i was more thinking an all purpose vehicle. rally/solodex/VK/etc..
i'd appreciate if anyone can tell me what are the requirements of a rally car/driver? Or where can i find this information?
also, the 4wd is self exlanatory but i'm curious about the 2wd.. what type of cars currently race? mostly fwd or rwd? aside from maintenance and obvious wear and tear.. what are the avg costs incurred?
any info would be appreciated, thanks.. |

What sort of car you have in mind and the budget .
From these two points we will be better able to help you.
If you have no idea on what car to start with try using a EE90 Corolla and B12/13 Sentra as you starting platforms.
Both cheap to acquire and affordable to maintain. |

don't mind spendin some cash to install a cage/suspension.. but i am hoping to at least be competitive at some point in time. would that engine do for starters?
not lookin to win, lookin to have some fun..
Anyway depending on the route i choose, car may be up for sale.. driving and everything, needs complete left door.. |

lol... escort yuh say..
i say fun because my impression of motorsports it trini, is that its not very rewarding financially.. i think people put out more than they get back. its passion for the different activities that drives it.. so i want to have fun yeah, but at the same time i see you all talkin about vincy and b'dos and depending on progress and commitment i could see myself doin these in the future..
really my concern is cost.. i really dont want to bite off more than i can chew. so this is essentially a fesability study..
how big is the 2wd group?
do they race 2wd up the islands?
cost to race?
specs for roll cage/safety?
ttrc info/meetings etc??
i know its a lot of questions but as i said any info will be appreciated.. |

| My suggestion is come out to the Scrutineering for Rally Trinidad 2008 at Grand Bazaar on Wednesday (2pm - 6pm). You will see all the cars 4WD and 2WD and be able to see for yourself what the preparation is like, talk to people, ask questions etc. |
