dat is the same stress i have but mine is due to the P/S box having bad seals. a new box is $7k and can't find a used one yet.
check to see the colour of the fluid.....if it's black then there's an oil leak from either the turbo line or there's a oil cooler line that runs near there.
if it's red, then yuh P/S leakin out somewhere....
my mechanic is a great friend of mine who does work on all my cars ( in onl ever had two.... ) but also does work on both my mom's and pop's cars. he lives in maloney and it's his full time job. |

shucks I feel special
I got my oil changed yesterday.
Also checked the back brakes cause I was getting the parking brake light coming on when I apply the brakes. So I assumed they were low... all was fine. Mechanic says that it could be a sensor... Unsure about that. Going to top up the brake fluid and see if that's the problem - though it shouldn't be
All the glow plugs were sparking fine. Good current. So my next assumption is that the cold start problem could be the damn sensor again! However it wasn't as noticeable this morning... Ole van again |

The earlier the better... |
|
8:30 am sounds good.
1) If we go Chaguanas (KFC - Montrose) --> Talparo (thru Todd's rd) --> Wallerfield --> Sangre Grande --> Mayaro --> Rio Claro --> Princess Town --> Debe (doubles) and break off from there...
or...
2) Chaguanas (KFC - Montrose) --> Cunupia (southern main rd) --> St. Helena --> Arima --> Wallerfield --> Sangre Grande --> Mayaro --> Rio Claro --> Princess Town --> Debe (doubles)
or... Skip the doubles and...
3) ... --> Sangre Grande --> Mayaro --> Rio Claro --> Chaguanas (and end there)
Or reverse...
4) Chaguanas (KFC - Montrose) --> Rio Claro --> Mayaro --> Sangre Grande --> Valsayn (KFC) and break off from there...
I personally prefer the 1) or 2) - the doubles would be a good way to end. However is a pretty long run.
approx times for distances are:
Chaguanas - Talparo - 30 min
Talparo - Wallerfield - 40 min
Wallerfield - Grande - 40 min
Grande - Mayaro - 1:00 hr
Mayaro - Rio Claro - 30 min
Rio Claro - Princess Town - 1hr 30 min
Princess Town - Debe - 15 min
add for wee wee breaks, photo moments, stretch foot, eat, drinks, etc.
Chaguanas - Rio Claro - 1 hr 15 min
Rio Claro - Mayaro - 30 min
Mayaro - Grande - 1:00 hr
Grande - Valencia - Valsayn - 1hr 15 min
Chaguanas - Cunupia - St. Helena / Las Lomas - Arima - 1 hr 20 min
I bringing my little cooler (could only hold two bags of ice) and two kegs of fresh water.
Allyuh organising some sandwiches and thing too? Or we buy along the way? I'll get back tuh allyuh later

...well, the L2 going for service today, should get it back tomorrow. i busted a P/S line so A/T fluid is all over the place and i have a unknown oil leak. taking the time to change the belts one time as they are starting to fray on the edges. may do an oil change same speed as it on 7,000+ km on it. |
You can't get the P/S seal kit from *them* people
Or is it a bigger problem? |

ok i just checked the color of the fluid...it's kinda dirty from the road but i used a napkin and it had a reddish shade. the area just stays wet, i never saw a drip yet. Funny thing is that the fluid level is good and i havent added since i bought it (about 8 months).
The wet look on the turbo is that normal?
Shoot $7000.00 is way too much out of my budget.
Honestly everything works great so thats why i havet tried to mess with it. If it aint broke dont fix it!
oh i realised my engine oil cap needed changing cuz i was spilling a lil oil there... got one on my way back from fill up this morning where i tried the Amsoil cetane boost thing......Just $25.00 for a oil cover.. that was a good feeling.
Oh i took a day off so i home... gotta get me some rest... |

Fellas... Sunday is my only free day so I may just cut the run in half. Good suggestion for the run though. I'll also check something a bit different in terms of the run and get back to you all.
W.r.t. the oil leaks.... let's start with a good engine wash... makes it a lot easier to trace exactly where it's coming from.
Saeid... if it ain't broken.... don't fix it....leave trouble alone esp. with a diesel engine. |

well saeid, your P/S system has a leak. my advice, find it now and don't wait till my stage........where you drive around with a bottle of A/T fluid in the van to two week top ups....
be glad it eh start to drip but the mere fact that it's all over the steering assembly means that it's serious enough. the steering box is located just above the pit arm and i believe that could be your problem.
as sweeks said, give it a good wash down and monitior it everyday after, esp. after a long drive.
i have to buy a new oil cap and P/S cap myself and check Dia. motors in awhile for the belt #s and a seal kit. will report later how that went. |

....as for the route....it doh matter which way we go but once we pass from rio to chag or vice versa......
...i've driven all the other routes already, and i think it a part of the country most of us haven't seen. i will have my cooler in the van ( i have no front passenger seat)------(don't ask), and lunch will be any kfc or royal castle on the way. |

| I just got back home. I want to do the engine wash but to my surprise ACME gas station in Princes Town was demolished and the excavator was still there. The place flattened. I hear they are going to open a Quick Shop. Anyways anyone know where in south is a good place for the engine wash? |

Did you get original Mitsubishi belts? Those are really good but I know sometimes Diamond Motors sticks and sells gates belt which not too bad either. |
