Bought a Amsoil Cetane Boost Additive today $65.00.. i feel like i pay too much. you guys paying that same price! #Cussing out anyways first time i trying this one i normally buy the one in the brown bottle (Diesel Fuel Additive Concentrate) $60.00 The guy in the parts place always recommends it. but i read up on it and i don't think it was the best thing for me. Any views here?

^^ Use as directed - one bottle treats 50 gallons... so about 1/3 bottle should do...

It works. You'll notice the difference. BTW I pay $60 for it. No big difference I guess Wink

Saied sounds like you have an interesting project ahead of you. The best advice I can give to you is to prioritize... this will all take time.

In terms of the winch... what's the primary purpose ? That'll determine if it's worth all the additional modifications. My neighbour uses one on his suzuki when he goes offroading.

Be sure to research the K&N filter... and it's definitely not an offroading or for use in a dusty environment.... because it increases the air intake, it also lets through some dust particles.

Anyway enjoy your project... I'm also looking for a similar project myself.

BTW Fellas I have some nice 15s 6 hole 4x4 rims for sale. Check it out and let me know if anyone interested

sweeks, the rims looking good man... I already running 15s... The 15s give a great ride as well as good offroading traction.

sweeks as usual you always have an excellent input. The winch is being considered for use in off roading I haven’t done anything serious yet but the little adventures I did have were tremendously entertaining. Good point on the K&N there. I will have to find a better idea for better engine breathing. I remember those rims. Sweet rims. I also agree that I will have to take the project one step at a time which I intent to do. The good part is nothing is cast in stone and I got you guys to guide me along the way. Who could ask for a better team?

I just finished changing my engine oil. Any one knows how much oil this engine takes? If I remember correctly I usually put about 7L but today only about 5L drained out. I guess it must have been on a slight tilt or something. I don’t know. Well I am all filled back up and the dip stick reading right so everything should be ok. But can someone please confirm the amount of oil these engines usually take.

Oh I almost forgot as for the winch. What is a good pull capacity winch to use for this application on the L200?

....when i was checkin around, a winch cost a $1 per pound and it's always recommended to buy a winch twice the weight of your vehicle. i want anywhere from 5,000 to 8,000 but i can't afford that... Sad

on some sad news.......i cracked the guage housing on the dash due to mounting the guages, so one crack is being held up with glue as is the guage.....i'll try to hunt around for a scrap housing and learn from this experience.

as for the run, i have no problems with it......i would like to start early though....say......8:30am, reason being, less traffic brilliant sunshine and should anything go wrong, we have enough daylight to get back home w/o to much worry.

i'm up for any route but once it passes through the chag to rio road thingy.....never been through there and i like touring the country. if we are going the north to south route then we'll meet in GB by the bandstand, if from central to south.....then in PP infront west sport.....theres a car park by the glass triangle building.....from there we could leave.

also, numbers should be exchanged so that any late comers could play catchup.

better send my van for service tomorrow.... Mr. Green

...well, the L2 going for service today, should get it back tomorrow. i busted a P/S line so A/T fluid is all over the place and i have a unknown oil leak. taking the time to change the belts one time as they are starting to fray on the edges. may do an oil change same speed as it on 7,000+ km on it.
