Welcome Saeid.... Nice to have you. These guys know their stuff here and I'm sure you an learn a thing or two.
Freak.... I need to check Cariri....since I'm already on Campus. That'll really help me decide. A partner with the new Sportero confirmed that Diamond motors doing 10 000km oil change on their common rail engines. Of course they running full synthetic. |

We'll have to pull in the newbies when the lime taking place ....
BTW, are non diesel vehicles allowed for any lime that may take place? For example, the 2.7vvti Gasoline Hilux... or the nissan xtrail... these are gas powered. |

Is regular power washing a good or bad thing?
This gas station attendant told me I shouldnt power wash the fenders, It will beat out the ziebart....
I said, ok.
I try to maintain a strict once a month power washing regime. |

NEVER power wash the body of your vehicle. It can damage the paint. With respect to the fenders, I agree with the attendant...If too much pressure is used, it can removed the Ziebart coating. In this case I'd recommend using a normal hose attached to a tap supplied by a pump.
I used a 1750PSI pressure washer, on the wide setting, on my car once to flush away some mud on the tires and it removed the paint on the rims. |

Cause the filter traps the impurities, etc in the oil
You can change the filter without changing the oil - as with synthetic oils. I think sweeks does this, but you can't NOT change the filter.
Does this clear up the concern? Or I misreading you? |

to me it seems good common practice.....
....by leaving in the old filter, you "dirty" the new clean oil you just poured in.
comes like taking a bath and putting orn the same dirty drawers before a hot date.... |

Yes I'm thinking about changing the filters every 5k and leaving the synthetic oil for 10k but I haven't done so yet. I've read online where it's done in countries like Australia etc.
Unless it's a common rail engine, the high level of soot in the engine really messes up the filters and the oil breaks down fast. Hence the reason a regular mineral oil change is recommended at 5000km. With my previous hilux (2L engine), I changed at 6000km and never had any problems.
Anyway to answer the question....
"does the filter have to be changed every oil change ?"
Yes... if it's a regular diesel, change that oil filter regularly (no more than 7500km)

Let me know how the test drive of the new Hilux goes. I find them really expensive man.
Have you gotten a mechanic to look at the glow plug yet? I don't have much experience with them. What's the glow pluy life span? |
