Good going Patchie.... just a small input here fellas.... speed definitely would kill your mileage. However after 80km/h, it makes more sense to run with the a/c (roll up windows and reduce air drag).

I'm not sure but I understand diesel turbos start spooling at low RPMs (under 2000). I'm not even sure at RPM the 1kz-te turbo kicks in..... I usually hear it singing...so I know it working.

In the vigo, I see the boost needle lifting around 1700rpm !!!

I try to limit higher rpm's to avoid running on higher boost pressures a lot in an effort to save fuel, but there is only so much you can do with an automatic.... If im not careful, and i press the x qucikly, the thing hittin 15psi just so jus so

Ketchin meh arse to do more than 585k/95$ fuel Neutral

....2 5/8" auto meter diesel tach, ordered it from summit.

you can't just buy any tach as i found out, has to be diesel specific and they only have one type.

what's specific about it, besides the lower rpm range and that diesel engines dont use spark plugs...

Actually, I have to correct myself, I looked closer at the tach this morning, It appears the boost needle lifts off the needle rest at around 1300 rpm!!! and at 1500rpm its like 6-7 psi !!!

....well, the tach as you know only goes up to 5,000 rpm. but the singal wire is strapped onto the alternator as i discovered, it would a learning process for me when i put it on an make sure it calibrates properly.

i have to go buy some 18 guage wire for the voltmeter later.

...my problem is where to mount them. Neutral

here's some cleaning tips i "borrowed" from a L200 website in the UK. good stuff to know....

So you get home mud all over the truck and a grin that goes from ear to ear, so what do you clean?

1. If you where clever you would have sprayed a fair bit underneath with cheapo WD40 to help the mud come off, Then its out with the pressure washer or hose and away you go!

2. You need to get into all the nooks and crannies and into the chassis rails as well, you'll be suprised how much mud builds up in them.

3. When washing the engine bay if you use a pressure washer do not hit the electrics or insulation and not the radiator that should be backwashed with hose pressure only, if you can make a rubber sheet that covers the grill for off roading it will save you a lot of grief!

4. When you have it clean and its dried out give the engine bay a good spraying with back to black, it makes it look nice and as its a scilicone spray will help keep the electrics in good condition. A little vaseline on the terminals will also help stop corrosion.

5. Buy a jack, axle stands and a grease gun, one that take cartridges they are cleaner to use. Grease your prop shaft u/j's and steering balljoints.
Jack up the wheels and remove the roadwheels and rear drums, hose them out with the garden hose and let them dry, dont forget the drums they need a wash too. if your capable you can strip and clean your brakes, one side at a time that way you can always look at the other side if you forgot how it goes together. If your not then don't leave it to the garage!

6. Have a good look underneath for signs of damage and check your tyre condition while they are off.

A pillars meng. unless you have a big arse handle mounted on it like the vigos.

B.t.w. I used a 20ton press and straightened out the curve on the base of the bracket that came with the guage, and I just 2 way taped the sob onto the dash. Strong as hell. I cant remember how much space your dash has, but its a quick and secure way to do it if you have the room on the side of the inst cluster.
