anyone ever installed an intercooler on their 2.5L hilux?
this is the only turbo van that comes non-intercooled, and would it make sense to install one?
u mean the only toyota pick-up with a non-intercooled engine?
|
what i mean is the rest of the turbo pickups all have intercoolers.....and would it make sense to install one on the new model hilux, the 2.5L turbo diesel model, because these come without....i know the 3.0TD vigo comes intercooled |

Toyoman ... the Prado and previous model Hilux SR5 doesn't come with an intercooler but both are 3.0L turbo diesel (same 1kz-te engine). The Mazda B2500 also doesn't come with one either.
Just run the original Toyota Long Life coolant and your turbo timer and you should be okay. Installing an intercooler might not be necessary. |

the new prado comes with an intercooler. the older one from the firm (1KZ-TE) doesn't. the RORO ones do come with an intercooler though.
the 3.0 frontier doesn't come with an intercooler as well, as compared to the 2.5 one |

Which Mazda turbo B2500 don't come intercooled? All the Madzas Turbos are intercooled.
wrt the Hilux 2.5 turbo without an intercooler? That really is horrible. And yeah the 3.0 Frontiers are non intercooled, but the Patrol is |

it's a very dutty L2 (see avatar ) and i have done nothing to it except buy slightly oversized tyres and some additional lighting. look through the rally event pics and you'll come across it.... |

That's real strange boy. You sure the gauge working properly?
I don't regret putting in the mechanical gauge na, it showing so much more than the stupid electronic gauge. |

.......yep.....but i want to buy some aftermarket guages, esp. a voltmeter......
hopefully money will be able next year to take car of that.
depending on how far i'm going and the time of day, the needle will stay on the cold marker or just below. that last pic was taken @ 5:45am 10mins after leaving home. |

....you just have headlights.......i have 6 x 100watts lamps to push.....
....but honestly, what are the reommended guages to get, besides the ammeter.
...and should they differ between turbo and non-turbo models..... |
