....'freak, i know the space small so recently i bought a nice size tool kit to hold my tow strap, 4 tie straps and a cargo net (got this in my wagon and kept it when i sold it).

the top part i using to hold the big tools (pliers, vice grip, spanners). the kit can't fit behind the seat but seeing that is only me mostly in the van, it sits behind my seat. the socket set will go behind the back seat. could never have enough tools.

as for the wipers, i got the pylons. they worked well for me and they are one of the few wipers i get in my small size. the windscreen in the L2 is very short compared to other 4x4s. can't use nothing bigger than 15".

15" Question Real small wind screen there

If I can get a long narrow tool box, or two, then I'll be happy... Can't have nuttin on the ground - always have someone in the backseat Laughing

^in or on the backseat.... Question Arrow Laughing Laughing Laughing

....but yeah, the screen small. by the time the arm extendsto full upright, a 16" blades clips the plastic retainer on the top of the glass.

it was so bad that it actually started pullin it off so i had to cut them short.

Where you got the Michelin wiper blades? I using the Pylons right now, working good except they hop on the screen sometimes as you say.

Fellas I suggest we begin another topic re 4X4 maintenance and leave this once for engine maintenance.

that could be done but then you'll be between two threads for one topic, which really is diesel maintenance, whether it be engine or otherwise.

i agree to leave the comparisons out, but once it entails some sort of maint. issue, it should remain here.

i should be getitng my vehicle early next week. what do you guys suggest be the first checkup point? milages wise the firm is giving me the first check up for free at 1000km i find it's a bit early but then it may catch any problems sooner as it's practically a new vehicle and may still have some problems.

...1,000km is cheating you but then again, it's f/u vehicle so yuh hadda take it.

as with any new ride, park it up for a day amd look over everything.....and i mean everything. take note of all figures as you got it and condition of the entire van and then go drive the hell out of it after..... Razz Razz Razz

....but seriously, that first service will fly like nothing.....but keep us informed and let us know when we could get a test drive.... Mr. Green

Awww shoots! All dat just for Val? Laughing Laughing

So anyways, question for Val:

Do any of the big-high-"hi-lux" Rangers come 4x2? Cause I saw a guy with one last night by Bel Air BBQ ketching his arse to get back onto the road. He said he didn't have no 4WD in that pickup. Is he cornfused? or am I?

I ain't been ignoring you eh....

First things first: Get a lil notebook and make sure and record all the maintenance that you'll be doing. Helps keep track of how things are going.

And yeah you'll rack up those 1000km in like a week!

No I ain't bought the diff oils yet - that'll do tomorrow. Went Guayaguayare again today (with the company pickup) so no time today.

BTW - half tank of diesel will get you from Chaguaramas to Guayaguayare and back, with A/C and running almost at high speeds too Laughing

Return trip; 330 km.
