| In terms of turbo seal problems, excessive smoking or even engine overheating...also, cutting tyres uneven and alignment gets thrown off easily mostly with the 4x4s..... |

I've heard ( from a new Frontier owner) that his alignment is thrown out very easily & therefore always in need of adjustment.
OK so tell me, seeing that I can't sdjust the timing on my diesel engine, what steps do I take ( besides the obvious changing of the air filter) if I think it is burning excessive fuel ? |

i've heard of the amsoil...how do you use is though??? through the tank or directly through the pump??? oh, the frontier is used for normal, everyday driving which is kinda hard to see why the alignment gets thrown off....

^i feel i will get around that. it took $80 to fill and just made 600km but i went maracas and that kinda killed the mileage run. i know i could get 700km easy.
it was on the road as there were popo makin laps around the savannah but there no better feeling than going where other can't and having fun doing it. i wanted to go in the grass but jail was on my mind.
.....interested in the amsoil though.... |

| Hmm... maybe I drive too hard, or maybe I need to service the injectors. Cause $80 will get me about 450 km with the Mazda.... |

| currently $80 will get me somewhere between 400 - 450 kilos. I've heard some men say they get upwards of 700km with that...so just wondering what steps I can take if indeed I'm burning excess fuel.. |

^try not to drive tooo hard and easy shifts.
....i take it very easy and just mainly cruise around. no speed higher than 90kph and you can get the mileage.....
.....but then again i'm driving a non turbo l200... |

Maybe it's just you driving style... my tach does be about 3K rpm most of the time in the 5th... with the a/c on too...
And I change gears upwards of 3K - 3.5 to 4K
So there... |

i think it has alot to do with how you shift ur gears as mentioned by wagonr....sometimes i use drive to 140kms but still maintained my mpg...remember, 3.5 to 4k is alot of revving (especially with a/c) therefore u might need to shift earlier.....

| RNR66, have you ever changed ur air filter?? if not, use sakura....that makes a huge difference but then i intercooled my l200 so i'm not sure if that had anything to do with my mileage.... |

.....well my van eh making 140kph unless in going downhill on the UBH...
....but yeah, the shiftin patterns do help mileage, but i do shift to the limit sometimes and is a/c right through.
....why drive with the windows down when you still get great mileage with a/c orn right thru. and i can't roll them down anyway because my tires stick out the fender, so any little water.....
....but that's how i like it. |

^^ I've been told that the stock filter in the Madza B2500 is really good... It can actually be washed! Did it a few times already - washed it very gently in water with a lil Quix (Squezy is the impersonator! ) Most of the dirt came out. Wash it under flowing water and leave it to dry...
Try that if you interested in saving a $80 for a new filter |

Be careful where you full diesel and gas too
But the diesels seem more affected
A couple times got a bug caught in the strainer from the fuel tank... (a bug? YES! a bug!!) cause we used to fill up in the old gas station in Arouca... was closest to home and first and last) in the direction of work.
Since that, I only fill up at Peake's... |

| I does get 400KM on my mazda with normal driving, thats about $75-$80 to fill up with 100-120KM runs. If I drive really slowly, shift early & don't pass 80-90km/hr I get amazing results but it does be tooo slow for me. Someone told me that if you got a turbo you should try & shift be4 the turbo spools up to save gas. Again I never really tried caus it was too slow for me. All of this with AC on. |
