Guys i notice my car smoking greyish blackish when i changing gears usually from 2nd to 3rd or when ah going up hills.what to do for that or is it normal?

Cool don't mine the new guy Evil or Very Mad

...firstly, how you know what colour smoke you letting go from 2 to 3 if you driving.....

....and smoke is a part of all diesel....that's why they call them "oil burners" in the UK..

however, excessive smoke could mean dirty air filter, dirty fuel and some general service needed.

my van doesn't smoke really but if i were to push it hard, floor the pedal....it would....most gas car do it to some extent.

freak or sweeky clean might add or subtract to what i said but i don't think is anything major......

...but don't quote me on that.

Easy boys... no fighting .... let's wait till the run.... then you take out your aggression in the mud.

Firstly .... this is how I reply. If there's a question and I can respond with positive input, I reply. If I can't say something useful, then I don't. I don't ignore anyone and if you think Sweeks is ignoring you, then my apologies.

Sniper besides oil, fuel and air filters changes and fuel treatments that's about it. Of course there's seals and timing belts that needs to be changed but that's at very high mileage - 100 000km+

Wagon_r ... for real! It so much easier we can do it ourselves. My biggest issue is getting rid of that old diesel oil.

The other reason that I may not reply is because the topic or question would have been previously discussed and I may not make the time to answer because it somewhere in here.

Come to think of it...we almost reach a 100 pages.... Congrats fellas.

So I dropped the van for a service at TTTL this morning. When they asked if they should check anything, I told them when the hilux is idling there is a little shake every 20-25 secs. They said that is normal for diesel engines. Is this so? Has anyone else experienced that?

hmm, are these shakes consistent after the van has warmed up, even so i have never really felt the van shake or vibrate to any extent to make it noticable, only on a morning when i start up, the shifter will shake for about 2-3 mins till the van warm up a bit and then every thing cool...

Do you have the 4x4 or 4x2....?
