Thanks, I'll do some calling around tomorrow.

323_Wagon.....If you're using the original filters, I'd definitely run that oil change up to 10 000km + (providing they're using syntec oil). What's TTTL recommendation on oil changes and did you do you're 1000km service?

Sweeks, its the original filters from toyota. I'm not sure if they used syntec oil, and getting info from them is like pulling teeth from a shark. I bought the Mobil 1 syntec for the oil change...however i cant get the filters (yet). Yep I did the 1000km service, although I'm not entirely sure what they did for that service.

thanks Sweeks that answers the question.

Do all of the new pickups also comes with ECU's and sensors Question like the Mazda B2500/BT-50, Ford ranger, Isuzu, Nissan Frontier Question

and i guess if they come with ECU, they should also have Diagnostics testing for them Question

another question, I've notice, if not all, but Most of the new diesel vehicles do not come with Pre-Heating before they start..... what kind of technology or system has taken its place Question

Mr. Green

Original Mazda parts are real man from what I hear. I'm not sure of the availability of parts outside.... might get stolen parts from Rock Road Penal.

Freak... what's your take?

You will get replacement parts for the vehicle - ie filters, etc. Original parts may be found outside of Southern Sales, but you have to search properly cause fellas would love to sell you parts for B2200.

WRT these diesel pickups, my advice is try to get the original parts for things like sensors. OEM parts for clutches, bushings, belts, etc can be used because these parts wear anyway. More major components - cradle arms, engine parts etc you will only get from Southern Sales.

Japan Motors does not sell parts or accessories to anyone who did not purchase a vehicle from them, i checked them and first question was "did you buy the vehicle from us"....?....they have adopted TTTL attitude towards selling parts..

as for toyota, they do NOT use syntec oil for their services unless you specifically request it, i have taken my van in for about 2 services so far and its the regular castrol turbomax (black bottle)that is used. what do now is buy my oil and air filters at TTTL and the oil outside, its a little cheaper, and then take it to my mechanic and have him do the change...

Silva Mera ... TTTL do not use syntec with the diesel engines as far as I know. I believe they use syntec with the gas engines.

Unlike the other dealership, TTTL does not void the warranties if you do not service with them. So it makes sense servicing outside. The original air filter makes a difference with the turbo diesels.

323_Wagon ...the 1000km is basically an oil change and if there's any reported problems they check it out.

They only have that policy for the new model hilux (IMV). I've serviced my RORO l-touring wagon there with no fuss or issues.

I'm hoping they didn't change that policy about the warranty.

Actually, they have become more stringent in their rules. I tried to have them do a check on a corolla wagon f-used for me and they refused. I own over ten vehicles from them. U may just get way with a simple oil change.

Alright guys... I know we talked about those of us who pull off in second gear without load and it has been stated in certain vehicle manuals that this should not be done.

We didn't change clutch plate and pressure plate, etc until 150,000 km and we only changed it cause the mechanic had to take down the tranny to change the pilot gear bushings and when he examined the plates he said they would need changing soon in a couple months. Meaning there was no trouble with the gears to recognise it as the cluthc plate / pressure plate, etc going bad.

This pickup has been roughed up and driven hard since we got it from myself and my brother. We did that servicing late in 2005. So it really lasted about 6 years. I think that it lasted long. If you guys think differently then I will rethink my driving technique.

Anyways, I used to pull off in 2nd cause I was pulling off slowly in traffic and I would just be chugging along slowly. First gear is a real PAIN in traffic.

Well these days I am little more conscious of pulling off in 2nd, but I still do it. Like I said, you guys think my clutch is not lasting long enough based on this driving technique, then I'll have something to consider.

BTW, anyone ever tried to pull off in 1st gear, on flat road, without using the throttle? I mean, just easing your foot off the clutch and your pickup moves slowly? I know mine does.

Let me get your feedback on this okay Question

Yeah, I do this with my hilux also... Main in traffic.

WRT, pulling off on 2nd, I personally think that may have had an effect on you having to change the clutch and pressure plates. More wear occurs cause you'll have a higher rpm when they engage.
