Hey guys.
Did I changed oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter Today.

I ran this fuel filter for 10,000kms I was so dam shocked! Normally when i just bled it from the drain valve i get clean diesel (weekly). I decided to change it anyway, Look what I found when i shook it out. Embarassed Embarassed Rolling Eyes Rolling Eyes Shocked Shocked

i have had to take my tank down 2 times in 3 weeks

for water and fuel..

that has caused me to change my fuel filter every oil change plus buy my fuel from one station.

Patchie....is this your first diesel? When you change diesel oil, after two days, it gets black again.

IMHO 5000km is good man. In my previous hilux (2L engine) I ran oil to 6000km, did 187 000km and never had a problem.

Now with the SR5 I'm running fully syntec (mobile delvac1) to 7500km with no problems either.

What's your mileage? Would you want to give full syntec oil a try? After 5000km it'll look the same but syntec has lots more detergent so you can run it up a bit more. Another option to try a slighty heavier body oil.

1st diesel...

was just suprised to feel the body of the oil both new and after 5k

mileage now is 21k

other frontier owners what alluh say ?

as far as i am aware, for my case, my l200 didn't come with a tach, so i bought an auto meter one which had a probe to strap onto thhe alternator, hence, the more rpms you pull, the tach swings.

i can't say for anything else as diesel engines don't past 4,500 rpm....

i was on 4th gear and driving about 30-40km

You also have to remember driving too slow for a particular gear will put more pressure on the engine as well. 30-40 Km/h should be in the 2nd gear range for most vehicles..

Guys keep in mind that i driving a B13 eh and de car does bawl at 30km on #2 gear......so let meh get this when gearing down to a lower gear, to prevent the car from holding back i need to keep my foot on the gas pedle? that is gearing down from 4-3 when over taking..
