The hilux owner's manual explicitly says not to do this. |
Guilty
First gear is a lil short for me.
I do it unconsciously from a slow roll... Like if I am coming to an intersection and slow down to almost nothing to check the cross street, I dont put it back in first.
Mechanic buff me already for it.
Or... really really lazy drives - 2nd gear then 5th...
Allyuh think I joking... |

when i had now got my frontier, i took awhile (abt a 2wks or so) to learn the gears... when to downshift without chirping tires etc.
the only way to learn it is with experience. practice won't make perfect, but it'll make you better. |
Like you never do a 4th - 3rd gear down and mash brakes same time
Nah I just giving the man talks... we all had to learn some time - just as long as you aint cutting off and people cussing, you'll be okay.
And every vehicle is different so it'll take a while |

This can't be good for your clutch disc/ pressure plate etc, can it? |
Wha... where this man come out from boy...? You was in the scrap yard?

Hey guys.
Did I changed oil, oil filter, air filter and fuel filter Today.
I ran this fuel filter for 10,000kms I was so dam shocked! Normally when i just bled it from the drain valve i get clean diesel (weekly). I decided to change it anyway, Look what I found when i shook it out.

^^^ I think this happens when you run out of diesel and air gets into the fuel lines
I saw my neighbour tumble it until it started on his T2500 truck once
diesel men
I went and checked out all the options for a 4x4 on teh market today
teh L200 (sportero)
HILUX
BT50 (new B2500)
Ranger
DMAX
sorry boy E2R, i didn't check any Nissans - not really interested
the similarities between the BT50 and Ranger were just too ridiculous - same engine, drivetrain, chassis, interior, just to name a few
the Isuzu DMAX impressed me, I must say
Pros:
the interior is very pleasant and comfortable, well designed, spacious
the body design is sleek, from where Isuzu previously was, I think they made some good advancements
there is a good view of the outside from inside teh vehicle - less likely to bump into things when parking.
airbags and ABS
rice from the showroom - led door mirrors
not much additions done at the firm
turbo timer recommended ( not sure if this is a pro, con or neither)
Cons:
the showroom accessories are not that good - a decent Pioneer deck is prob the only one
the 4WD is electronic - I am not too keen on this but you guys can take a look here and post some comments:
http://forums.trinituner.com/forums/viewtopic.php?t=134280
the engine is a bit more noisy than some of the other options on the market, but I wouldn't hold it against Isuzu, noisy engines are one of their characteristics
dunno much bout parts availability, but currently only Automobile sales stocks parts for this model
the engine response is a bit slow, but the salesman told me that while it is lazy on th low end, it is peppy on the top end - built for power, not speed (ain't that an Isuzu)
2.5L turbo is non-intercooled turbo - at least I didn't see an intercooler
price:
2.5L turbo 4x4 double cab = $183,000.00 Vat incl
3.0L turbo 4x4 double cab = $217,000.00 Vat incl
only the autos came 3.0L
some pics:
the push button 4WD selections:
Anyone with Isuzu experiences? |

Dragsta this is exactly so
everything the same on the BT-50 and Ranger 2.5L turbo
minor cosmetic differences
BT-50 come out the showroom with running board and tray rail
ranger doesn't
same Instrument panel, engine, deck, chassis, drivetrain |
