Diesel = economy Laughing Laughing

Going to the mechanic tomorrow morning maybe to sort out the oil-by-turbo problem. And I am going to change back to a 20W50 or 25W50 oil.

Saied... the Green with silver looks good. I would stay away from black. Dust particles show up more and dark colours attract more heat.

question : I have a Ford Ranger 4x4 06' - appox. 6months old

it is doing about 22K right now

1. at what rev limit does the turbo kick in
2. the van was serviced at 20k but all of a sudden it start to feel sluggish - eg. top speed i was getting initially was 180 now it hitting 160
The firm added some fuel additives when it was serviced - oil is fine when last i checked.

what could be the performance drop- could it be the diesel i fillup with?

turbo kicks in about 1500 -1700 rpm

sounds like the fuel filter clogged, or the fuel filter could be clogged, or the fuel filter may be clogged...

but for an OEM filter to get clogged so quick Question does it seem sluggish at about 3-3500 rpm? is it smoking black Question

I assuming you still under warranty wrt engine Question Let the person who sell you the vehicle know you not satisfied....

I filled up this morning and placed approx 2 ounces of acetone in 40 litres (approx 10 gallons) of diesel. Also changed the air filter.... replaced it with a SAKURA $80.

Heading to Mayro later... will be back on Saturday night. Will check the fuel consumption when I get back.

Civic Minded... check the filters as suggested above, and check your oil yourself ... not sure what these dealerships are capable of.

Wagon at 300 000km + and lots of mud, maintenance is a lot more but say what... we know you don't mind...

fuel filters, oil filters and air filters was changed - it ran really well after that but just this week i felt the performance drop. Van is under warranty so the firm did everything.

Van isnt smoking so i know it isnt the oil, I have checked the oil this morning and it seems good - it is black but not thick to touch.
I will call Mc Ednenny (spelling) tommrow and let them know about this.

Civic_Minded do you run your fuel tank to less that quarter regularly.. if so, the strainer could be clogged... it could be that you got some bad diesel.

Below are some images from my Mayaro trip. I helped out a couple partners and pulled out a 4x2 lux that go stuck in the sand. There was also an accident in the 'coconuts' as well. Not the best quality photos (they were taken from a phone).

Saeid my lux has the prado's 3.0 diesel . As a T vehicle, it cost $7 000 to license, as a P vehicle, the prado cost $70 000.

Now why would you want this?

Sweeks. bro i don't understand full what you telling me man.
Explain that.
what i think you saying is that it cost $70 000 to License a P vehicle!
VS $7000 for a T!

I was thinking Like a Surf or a Prado or a Pajero.
Thats why i threw it out here first. I know you guys would know better.

Saied... basically I'm saying, with regards to the same engine size(cc), it's a lot less to license a T vehicle that a P vehicle. Dollar for dollar, you come out better with a T license vehicle.

I've seen some T license Prados. These are you usually P. Does anyone know the criteria for licensing an SUV T?
