KiD, the oil filter is bigger than the usual oil filter for cars. as for the brand, you could use fram or sakura.

to get rid of the water, change the fuel filter and bleed the line.
also, use a fuel treatment.

Kid... availability of the oil and fuel filters for the 1kzte is no problem man. I use Sakura but change them regularly. It's easier to change the fuel filters rather than drain it because of it's location in my engine bay. (I drive a hilux with a prado engine)

If you ain't maintaining that Prado properly it's going to over heat and blow the head.

Have a look at this link. (Equipped you should to)

Saeid... good luck with the repairs. You're doing well.

Later fellas.

Thanks Sweeks.

Cleaned all the under Armour today. i will mount them back up tomorrow.
One of the rubber sheet shields in the front fender area that protects splashing from the road to the engine was ripped. i tried using a tube from a truck to re-make one but it has a curve and would not stay in place. i think i will check Rahamans or one of those places for a flat material i can use. or maybe the dealers.!!!

Also checked the diffs and converter, oid is good to go. I must say it has really been fun working on her myself. Smile

Anyways hope all of my brothers are having a safe and fun weekend.

Actually today i noticed the temperature gauge going really high then i took off the a/c and it started going back down. after a some experimenting i realized that it goes high with the a/c on in traffic but not while driving, if the radio is being played loudly, and driving up hill. i did get some trouble to start it today but i checked the battery poles and all 4 of them were slack i managed to ighten them a little but not much. also i noticed the wires were old and come of them have started corroding. then i checked the coolant, noticed it gets really hot and it only has water in it, no coolant.it has an irregular idle, stays just under 1k and slowly drops to about 600-700 and then shoots back up every couple seconds. 1 more thing is that it smokes alot and diesel burns up alot faster than it should, and it ver lazy compared to how it was when we 1st got it....and advice greatly appreciated

I experienced the cooling problem before.
Check the fan (It's just behind the grill in front the radiator). When you turn on the AC it supposed to come on and also when temp is high. You can run it direct. Solved the problem for me.

I recently bought a used L 200 turbo diesel and it's smoking black and plentiful.I get the smoking mainly at high speeds or revving heavy,it isn't continous but comes out as a puff then stops and then puffs again. What to think could be the problems and solutions. Thanks for any help given.

Firstly, you are having cooling issues and you probably need to check thru everything to find the problem. Do not take it lightly.
If you are going to get the system serviced, let them fix all your issues, then add coolant to the mix. Also, look for Redline Diesel Water Wetter - sells for about $50 a bottle. Use as directed and you would have dealt with your heat issues as best as could. In fact, buy the Diesel Water Wetter and carry it so you can add it to the system - One bottle is about a pint in size.

Second - service all your filters, and change oil, inspect glow plugs etc - everything we preach about from page 1 Laughing
Go back and read again and Just do it...

which line ah bleeding hoss ?

Refer to earlier post about bleeding the fuel filter. Or check the manual.

The procedure involves loosening the butterfly valve under the filter.
Placing an appropriate receptacle,
Then pumping the hand pump on the top of the fuel filter until all the water/muck comes out and clear diesel starts to flow.
Retighten the butterfly valve and that's it.

This procedure will not interrupt fuel flow to the pump.

I napped earlier - just went and pick up the wife from the movies... so you know I cyar sleep until I wind down.

I hoping to get a lil time to polish the truck tomorrow - Give she a nice clean up on the outside - regardless of what the wagon might say Exclamation

Used the AutoGlym on the car Saturday - looks marvelous.... Let's see what it can do for the ole gurl.

Either I'm getting some good diesel these days or the engine working real good - getting close to 460 - 480 km for a $80.00 tank. I recently started putting diesel at a new location and I find an increase in performance of the fuel.

Still getting my rough idle on startup though. Have to sort that out this week...
