Can someone please explain the differences between a Blackberry and an I-phone in terms of:-

1. Accessibility to available networks in Trinidad

2. What is involved in gaining access to voice and data on netwrks? -
someone was mentioning that you need to have a data sim and register to some BB global server.

3. Cost involved?

4. Which phone uses which operating system? and what do the operating systems mean?

5. Upgradability of the systems?

6. Which of the phones are opensource - if any?

7. GPS positioning available? and to what accuracy?

8. Hardware limitation?

I am NOT asking which is better but more the technical aspects of both.

I have not used any of the above, but with the increasing pace of technology - it would be ominous to be left in the dark

any answers or start a new thread?

A new patent filing shows Apple exploring portable multi-touch skins that can be wrapped around three-dimensional objects, according to an AppleInsider report.

Apple notes that on notebooks touchpads and touch screens similar to the iPhone, the user moves one or more fingers on a two-dimensional surface to operate the device.

"However, for the operation of many devices, it is desirable, preferable or even necessary for the user to move his or her fingers over a three-dimensional surface," the filing states. "This is directed to a multi-touch skin placed along three dimensions of an object. A single multi-touch skin can be configured to span all three dimensions or two or more multi-touch skins can be used to span the three dimensions."

iMobileCinema is a MobileSafari plugin which allows for playback of Flash (flv) video on the iPhone. You can watch videos from podcast sites or blogs with it; such as, Google Video, Youtube, and others.

A beta version of iMobileCinema has just been released for 2.x iPhones and can be installed via Cydia. You will need to add the d.imobilecinema.com source first.

Has anyone used ToneFX (from Cydia) which supposedly can change iPhone text tones? Just curious.

SRASC...good stuff here. I have a question.

I am based in NY and have a friend in Trinidad who damaged his 1st Gen iPhone. He wants a 3G as the replacement. I am an AT&T customer and own a 1st Gen iPhone. How would you recommend buying this for him? Through Apple, AT&T or another source?
