http://mytriniphone.com/blo...sw-and-restore-in-itunes/

jsut find a 2.0 custom restore ipsw (made on a mac with pwnage tool 2.0) and dfu restore you iphone in itunes 7.7 and you'll be unlocked on 2.0 in about 10 mins.

you dont need to use/download pwnage

check the torrents for 2.0 custom ipsw

were you in DFU or REstore mode, there is a big difference, this must be done in DFU (hold power and home for 10 secs, then let go pwoer, keep holding home, itunes will prompt to restore, hold shift/alt and click restore, find the ipsw)

and make sure you got a 2.0 Custome firmware for the first gen iPhone (iPhone1,1_2.0_5A347_Custom_Restore and NOT iPhone1,2_2.0_5A347_Custom_Restore)

the iPhone1,2 is for 3G and will give errors

WinPwn 2.0
http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/2008/07/23/winpwn-20/

Quote:
It’s here! We’ll be testing soon. Again, no Installer yet, but you want to try it here’s the instructions and downloads (be sure to also read the Important Notes section below):

- 1) Uninstall WinPwn 1.0 first.

- 2) First create a custom IPSW using the IPSW Builder.
- a) you will need the 2.0 firmware file. The one for the 1st Gen is different than the 3G. You can download them from our firmware¹ page or you can click upgrade in iTunes and then unplug your iPhone to force iTunes to download it. The file will be stored in your local drive, usually C:\Documents and Settings\YOUR WINDOWS USERNAME\Application Data\Apple Computer\iTunes\iPhone Software Updates

- 3) Click “Ipwner” and browse for the custom IPSW that you just created. This will pwn itunes and allow you to flash Custom IPSW files via DFU mode

- 4) Once you have pwned Itunes, put your phone into DFU mode. If you don’t know how to do this click Here².

- 5) Once you are in DFU mode Itunes will pop up and then you can hold shift and click restore and browse to your custom IPSW file.

NB
• Remove Winpwn 1.0 completely if you have it installed. Installing over the top of WinPwn 1.0 will cause problems.
• Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes 7.7
• If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix

Red iPhone 3G?
http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/2008/07/24/red-iphone-3g/

Quote:
Rumor has it that around the Holiday Season, after the hype of the iPhone 3G launch is starting to simmer down but in time for the Christmas rush, Apple will be releasing a red iPhone 3G. This is not the first time we will have seen a red product by Apple. The iPod Nano and Shuffle currently have red versions as a part of the (PRODUCT) RED campaign by Apple, which aims to support the fight against AIDS in Africa by giving “a portion of the purchase price to the Global Fund to fight AIDS in Africa.” You can learn more about (PRODUCT) RED HERE on Apple’s Website.

WinPwn 2.0.0.2
http://www.appleiphoneschool.com/2008/07/25/winpwn-2002/

Quote:
An updated version of WinPwn was released yesterday. Doug and I had a chance to test the new version last night and it worked great. Doug is in the process of trying to convert and edit a demo video on how to use WinPwn so, keep an eye out for that. Below is a list of fixes and new features of 2.0.0.2 of WinPwn.

Fixes:
• Cydia/XP/Writing root FS bug.
• Failed to remove ipsw directory after a ipswBuild failure.
• iPwner now only accepts custom ipsws.
• Remove 345 ipsw support. WinPwn only supports 347 2.0 ipsw’s.
• Various other fixes.

New Features:
• Parition resizer
• Auto updater
• DFU Helper function/Wizard mode

And out before probably most got a chance to download it...:
WinPwn 2.0.0.3

Download:
http://www.megaupload.com/?d=YCJDFEHW
http://rapidshare.com/files/132425893/winpwn_2.0.0.3_Setup.zip.html

NOTE: 2.0.0.3 fixes the Ipwner crash problem and 16xx errors. It will also fix the iPod ipswBuilder failure bug.

WinPwn 2.0.0.3

- Support for both 1.1.4 and 2.0

- Custom Image Support

- Custom Payload Support

- 3g iPhone support

- Support for WinXP and Vista 32/64bit. Note Windows 2003/2008 server (Yes SERVER) are not supported
neither is Windows 95 or Windows 3.11

___
Notes:

- You MUST do a full uninstall of winpwn before installing the new version

- Make sure you have the latest version of iTunes ( Currently 7.7)

- WinPwn uses 300MB of ram at peak due to the ipsw being extracted in memory

- You must first click browse and load an IPSW to use WinPwn (i thought this was clear)

- For 2.0 only the *5A347_Restore.ipsw files are valid. The 345 image will not work

- If you see Failed to load image catalog/payload catalog, this is fine and won't cause problems

- If you already have service with AT&T do not activate or install Youtube Fix

Windows Live Messenger app for iPhone 2.0 firmware
http://www.mess.be/inews.shtml#newsitemEkEZpAuEppEBPeDLvM

Quote:
Not Microsoft, but Palringo released the first iPhone app that connects to Windows Live Messenger. Of course, it also connects to AIM, Google Talk, Yahoo! Messenger, Gadu Gadu, ICQ, Jabber and iChat, and aggregates all contacts into one list.

By "official" we mean it's available in the AppStore, at no charge, and that makes it the first native Messenger client that runs on the iPhone 2.0 firmware. Agile Messenger, we posted about earlier this week, only works with firmware version 1.1.4, and the many web-based IM services are just that, web-based.

From iPodTouchFans:

You can instantly exchange text, photos and receive voice-based IMs with individual contacts, or you can set up groups and send simultaneously to all of them - and sending any message is a really quick, 'single-click' operation. Using Palringo uses hardly any data: just one megabyte is sufficient for Palringo to send and receive the equivalent of about 4,500 SMS messages, send and receive about 32 picture messages, or receive up to 15 minutes of vocal instant messages!

winandmac.com adds:

Because the Apple SDK limitation, it cannot be run in background. It will try to keep the connection stay alive. It may quit suddenly. But, if it stays alive and receive a new message, you will be able to see it in the springboard.

Earlier this month, Palringo released a version of its client for the BlackBerry Curve, Pearl and 8800 series.

>> Palringo on iTunes. http://phobos.apple.com/Web...oftware?id=286274367&mt=8
>> You can find Palringo in the "Social Networking" category of the AppStore.
