turbohead, if you have the original 2.0 in the 929 those are very good, plenty torque. Bring it on the 16th and I will run you with my '26' second wagon. |

i wonder how many people that read these announcements realise that they're most likely driving a car just as capable of entering these competitions as the next guy?
i saw cars there at the last event that entered and were just as slow as my automatic wagon.
i think that since the big guns seem to have problems getting the power down at camden that the street class machines should take the opportunity to take a serious interest in the sport.
im thinking it should make things more interesting because there'd be alot more (albeit slower) cars to see.
apart from that u know how many fast cars i know for a fact never compete at events? we really need a callout system just for the sake of getting more competitive runs between cars.
last time at camden there were several cars no doubt but hardly any serious competing.

Don't be so negative... one of the big goals of a motorsports facility is to encourage people to make that move ! |

a hard sale when the MC MC, makes disparaging remarks against the slower street cars which want to partake.
Seems he is deeming them unworthy of such events, and the only place for them really is the streets.

didn't mean to sound negs.......
my 1st 120Y was a reliable 16.1........real competitive in 16-sec bracket....if I used sense & stayed there.............
but........speed...went 14-sec & ...pressure to even stay there........especially on a bread & water salary...
the perspective here is to sensibly bracket yr beast...& enjoy the ride
...
competition is another 'cup of tea'
..
something tells me these 'silent' racers will soon step up to the line ...

Trinis are competitive.... if the brackets are done right, I am sure you will see a resurgence of ppl eager to compete.
Even if it's a head to head type event.... just hadda encourage the population at large... we all know there are PLENTY cars out on the streets that can compete. One of the main reasons we should focus on developing 'street classes'... you can't go to university if you haven't been to secondary school, right ? |
