That's a really good camera...

But like one of the strobes blow in the back of the first car.

Guess that's where he got the battery power to push him to 158

Cortina man's best score is a 151.6 on the IASCA meter.. that's 6.7dB off.. they could at least use a termlab to get consistent scores.. Confused

Wont SR's one eventually need calibrating?

Streetwise has the old type IASCA meter, which was discontinued from competition about 5-6 years ago. Its a normal SPL"High DB" microphone, not the 190 DB pressure Sensor which is used now.

yes and no

the microphone requires frequent calibration as well as the diaphram in the mic can become loose causing incorrect readings

this is why audio control moved away from a mic to the new pressure sensor as it works differently and is more accurate

as well as the meter does not have to be calibrated as often

each pressure sensor is calibrated to the specific meter it was released with

buying a pressure sensor and connecting it to a regular meter wont work as the meter is required to be returned to audio control for the upgrade and calibration for the pressure sensor

i am curious as to how and where was the mic placed in the vehicle at the show

doesnt have to be iasca all the way but it should be fair to the competitors

we are always willing to assist in setting the same standards across the shows so that the competitor knows how to build for competitions and not have to make major changes depending on the differences in judging criteria
