Just got this email from Suzuki sport regarding my inquiry on which shift knob I should mount on my SS....thought it might come in handy.

There are two versions to the SS, as I mentioned in another thread somewhere -

1) The Rev 1 cars had the side indicator on the front fenders, and carried a taller final drive (4.2:1) with a shorter first gear. ALso, these cars have a "pull-off" shift knob (not threaded).

2) The Rev 2 cars had the side indicator on the mirrors, and no indicators on the side of the fenders. These had the 4.38:1 shorter final driver. These cars had a shift knob which is a "Screw on" type - similar threading to the Nissan shift knobs.

They sent the docs in an MSExcel file, so I just attached a screenshot:

Bump.....haven't gotten around to installing this yet...a bit tougher for the series 2 cars .......hope to have it done soon.

Some notes I should add above (normally you'd be asked whether you have a series 1 or series 2 car before purchase):

1) Yes series 1 cars use a "pull-off" type knob....which mounts on a plastic T....but there is threading under the plastic T apparently.

2) Suzuki apparently uses some sort of adhesive on the threading on the series 2 cars, so it's a little hard at first to unscrew.

Nice information, however, your first post has the series 1(Side indicators on Fender) as screw type and Series 2 (Side Indicators on Mirrors) as non screw type, yet in you last post its the other way round.

The standard knob is pretty good already, don't you not like the design and feel?

I'm satisfied with it.

^^I made an error in the first post.....edited above

Yep I'm pretty satisfied with the OE shift knob so far.....hence no hurry to change it. I brought this bundled with the "Sport-driving-clutch-pedal" from Suzuki-sport......more of a whim than a necessity.

Thought so, So my series 2 will be screw type.

Hove you got anymore info on the differences between the series 1 and 2.

Maybe we can start a new thread as this more pertains to gear knob change?

At the moment, not much more differences AFAIK. Whenever I get around to switching it, I'll most likely start another thread. Cool
