|
|
So I decided to go with the energy suspension polyurethane bushing kit.
Thus far i have installed the complete front set at a certified mechanic (his bearing press broke down - so i waiting for him to fix it to install the rear bushings).
But now - everytime i drive over a road wave or depression i getting this God awful sqeaking (in the front only!) - especially horrid over humps !
I believe the main culprit to be the tension rod bushings rubbing on the chasis -
Has anyone had this experience with these bushings - and how did you stop the sqeaking ? - please help ! |

Are you sure you applied enough grease on the bushings prior to installation?
Kits like those from Energy Suspension come with their own "grease" to be used as part of installation.
However, from my experience with this, the two tiny tubes looked to be far from enough....so my mech. used some extra (not sure what). And I've never gotten squeaking.
Also, I've heard of cases where folks had squeaking 'cuz they didn't use enough grease....
....so maybe it's worth looking at? |

| is it the red bushings? if so i have the same set on my ek3 and they squeak like hell, what i do i spray them once a week with WYNN'S silicone spray and that stops the squeaking. After a few months the squeaking should stop but still keeping spraying them atleast once a month. |

| The red one squeaks more than the black ones, have the black ones on my car, only squeaks when goin up a driveway, some silicon spray periodically fixes that though. |

| I read on energy suspension's website that the black ones have more natural oil in them over the red. Other than that the red and black are identical. |

the real thing is to replace the the OEM control arms and links with the pillow ball jointed aftermarket arms (ikeya formula, cusco etc.) these usually allow you to adjust camber, toe and caster. They can however be very expensive! - especially if you want a full kit !!!
Stiffens the hell out of your ride tho !!! |

I got the red lower sway bar bushings and the red Cradle arm bushing set and I have never heard any kind of squeak. The last time they were greased was the same time I installed them and that's like a year now. But what I do know is there is a company manufacturing the same bushings and they are not energy suspension bushings yet the package states " Energy Suspension " on it. * Hint is each bushing kit packaged is supposed to carry a specific code that matches with the numbers on the bushings in the package you got. If it is not seen there then you know what you got. I was told this by some one at Energy Suspension when I called them enquiring on the kits they had a year ago. |

i have the rear trailing arm bushings installed......they only squeak when i go over a speed bump.......other then that they work good.......but they do transfer more vibration into the car, and some extra road noise.
massey wanted me to buy the entire rear axel just to get the bushings....for about $5000, got the bushings for about $500 |
