I have my turbo timer set for 2 min all the time.
I will take down the intercooler and check it, but i find it strange that if the turbo is leaking the oil, then why is the hoes that is by the throttle body the only one that is oily. All the others that run from the turbo to the intercooler look normal. I am starting to think that the backpressure may be the cause.
I spoke to a mechanic that told me that the 10w-40 mobil devac oil i was using was to thin and may be contributing to this as well, so i changed to RP 20W-50. I have to say the engine got real quiet compered to when it was with mobil 1. |

| I don't really check the oil regularly, i mean sometimes i might pop the hood a look around to make shore everything looking normal, and when i check the oil it always looks normal. you know when u buy a new vehicle and u service it by the company u expect that everything should be in order under that hood. |

| Switch back to the 16" rims and try it ... I suspect the 20s are your problem. |

tiger12, sorry to hear about your dilema.
I also have a 3.2 for approx 1 year and since I read your concern I had to try to see if this is occuring.
I presently have 18" and did not here any unual sound. Maybe you ought to try what was suggested and install the 16" if you still have them in an effort to troubleshoot this. |

tiger, i had the same issue with the squeak and i was about to freak out because i was thinking that some rubber was dry.
When I took it in for the 5000kms service I told them about it and they fixed the problem. I think they said it is a torsion bar that has to be readjusted/tightened after the vehicle is delivered to its customer.
The service guy said it is common with all of them and the problem ought not to reoccur.
Since then there has been no squeaks and i recommend that you take it back in to the firm. |

| Yes I'v had this squeaking noise since new... however it seems to go away and then come back again on its own... The first time i brought it in for service they told me they readjusted/tightened the leaf springs and it stoped for a while but it keeps coming back... i've also heard it's a common problem but there must be a proper way to fixing this for it to stop forever. |

I got that squeaking prob on my 2003 K74 as well
It is the leaf springs
There are rubber inserts that can be placed between the individual lifts to quieten them
Don't need to put between all the lifts, just the obes with the biggest spaces between them
When u grease up with shock oil after an underwash it gets quieter for a while
Just don't make the same mistake that I DiD - use grease between the spring lifts
makes a terrible mess
If you hear a knocking noise than it is the leaf spring hanger bushings
But you shoukdn't get that till the truck is abiut 3 - 4 years or drive in really bad roads a lot or do a lot if off-roading |

venum,
Question: Do you have any idea what those rubber inserts are called and where i can get a set... i was just taking a look at my spring leaf and noticed that those rubber insert are really worn out and i was actually able to pull of a peace of it. |

Guys now and then when the road is wet i engage my 4 wheel drive just to give the gears and stuff in the front a lil work out... I have noticed that above 80kmh there is a humming sound coming from the front diff... and is i accelerate it gets louder... When i disengage the 4 wheel drive it goes away... does anyone have an idea if this is normal or should i get it checked???
i really can't remember if it was always like this or it just started doing that. |

I could be wrong but from what I have read thus far I don't think you supposed to exceed 80km when in 4 wheel drive.
Someone with more experience with 4x4's could probably shed some light on it. That being said if it's humming over 80km I wouldn't push it past that till you get a clear indication why it's doing that. |

think the inserts you talking bout are the shackle rubbers.
not sure what type of 4x4 you have but if is part time 4WD then you should not engage on roads even if they wet.
Question : Does the steering become a little stiff when you begin hearing the hum? as this cud be drive train wind up
most of the newer 4x4 can go at any speed in 4WD and even have shift on the fly ( shifting to 4WD without having to come to a stop) which allows you to engage 4WD at speeds up to 100km |
