Since you boosted and that engine swinging rpm like Destra, I would use something thicker than 10 unless your aim is to spin your bearings soon. (I'm using straight 50 and 20/50 alternating.)
I always think that for 'older engines' you should stick to 15/30 *minimum*. If you boosted, better reason to use something thicker, and just don't run it too hard before it gets some warming up.
New engines are just that.. new. |

I would go for 7's if you boosting a lot. Otherwise 6 is best overall for us. |

aye as i am we askng questions......
Wat is the stock fuel pressure on the starlet....
i running two external pumps on the car is dat ok. one next to d tank an one next to d engine. I realised when i used one alone they were really noisy an d car starved for fuel in high boost.
120lph next to engine and 160lph next to tank.....
combined fuel pressure was so high that it buss all the original rubber hoses on both d return line an input. I know is over kill but still............anybody know? |

how much does a 3sgte fuel pump push out?
Cause right now i dont have d engine losing power problem anymore since i kept the 2 pumps an used stronger lines.
But the only thing is i dont see the air/fuel gauge going rich with the both high pressure pumps.
Is that possible on stock injectors? |

oh i sold dat thing long time................
but trust me if u did not have $300 to buy it from me how u paying somebody to cut the hood to fit a scoop? An then buy paint an like u forget u got to buy the scoop......
anyway i running with the top mount still with no problem an unless u going to be going an race every car on d road an constanly on boost cause u want to prove a point u dont need a scoop......just pop up d hood on washers let d hot air out like wat i doing now.
I going front mounted with a evo III cooler .................
but i want to try dat water to air charge cooler first since it will have less pressure drop an should work like d stock cooler but work more effecently like a bigger front mounted
but anyway if u ever realise how Laser hoods open different an i cant pop it up on washers like u could so i always have to remember to close it when i leave it in a carpark otherwise is gapers galour . |

A front mount intercooler, piping and labour would cost in the range of around $2500.00. If you know how to do it yourself you can save the $500 in labour. But most ppl to harden/dumb/lazy to learn to do it theirselves. For me every cent counts so I invest in educating myself.
BTW, you could also look at water injection combined with an upgraded TMIC, such as the one found on a pulsar GTi-R or even Celica turbo. Typical prices for a water injection kit are also around $2500.00 |
