I used the NGK Iridium Spark Plugs IFR5J11. Available from the firm.

Remember to put in the K&N Air Filter 33-2361.

You should notice a significant performance improvement in your 4x2 SGV.

Whom ever u spoke to evidently doesn't know squat. Next time ask for Raj or Nigel only st Lifestyle.

What did you pay for the BOSCH if I may ask?

Also, PM W2J. Best prices on K&N Filters. I paid $360 from:

Teknet Company Ltd
8 French Street
Woodbrook, POS
625-TNET (8638)

^^Do you actually expect to get ANY major improvements with a panel filter....on any car? (Folks who say yes....bring a dyno sheet to prove it.....butt-dyno is a helluva thing). The sole benefit would be the savings in $$$ in the long term from not having to buy replacement paper filters.

Judging by my SS's response, the K&N panel filter really didn't do much (as expected). A "true" cold air intake makes a big difference. An open pod filter also (maybe), but heatsoak will be a killer for day-2-day driving without proper shielding/insulation.

Of course, all stuff that will void the warranty Laughing

I can't speak for the Swift but my acceleration certainly is different. The 4x4 SGV has a lazy pull-off but since installing the K&N, the SGV is much more responsive.

The claim is a 3-4hp increase. I haven't measured it scientifically.

i also felt a difference when i swapped to a drop in K&N.. car was a 1.5L Civic though, still have to buy a drop in for my SGV..

i would have tested before / after performance figures, but the dyno never liked my car's CVT transmission.. so i never got accurate figures..

No probs bgh.

Did you do the 1000km check yet?

If so, your first Class 1 service @ 7500km should cost between $900-$1200TTD

Ok......concerning the K&N drop in panel filters....i have first hand experience that it really doesn't do a thing when it comes to power increase. I recently went to the dyno with a friend of mine in a suzuki ignis sport...and we dynoed with the stock paper filter and then a K&N drop in and the figures showed absolutely no significant difference...in fact with the K&N the figures dropped ever so slightly...nothing to make a case for any discussion tho...

1000KM was done back in May, all they did was check the alignment, hoses, fluids etc, nothing was changed.

made an appointment the last week in aug and got wed 23 sep... i'm at 8500KM by now... got to make appointment for my 15K early.

some folks may look at performance of the K&N if there is any, others will look at cost over time, it really up to you...

ROFL you sure you middle name is not Patrick? you seem to throw out everyone's opinion and conclude that you and your friend findings are written in stone, I guess all the millions KN spent on R&D was a waste.

did the exact same thing on the swift 1.5 and found a 5whp increase with K&N Cai kit vs the drop ... didn't bother to dyno the stock filter

but best results have been recorded with a k&N drop in and a proper cold air feed to the air box
