Post subject: Sheldon Bissessar breaks his own record - 6.06 @ 220+ MPH |

Sheldon qualified second out of a field of 36 cars in the World Finals in Rockingham with 6.06 at 220+ MPH.
Competition was tough as the time difference between 1st and 36th was .7 of a second.
The number one qualifier broke his engine so technically speaking Sheldon has the fastest time.
Tomorrow will be full of action |

Sheldon just called me on the phone from North Carolina
He said honestly they are only running the car at 80% of its potential.
This is only his second run ever in a blown alcohol dragster so he is taking it easy.
He said his goal this weekend is to just dip into the 5's and he would be most happy with a 5.9.
Qualifying stopped earlier due to rain - but at first he qualified 2nd place but due to the car that qualified first having some mechanical difficulties that leaves Sheldon as the top qualifier at the IHRA Nitro Jam World Finals in his class. This class requires all cars to run at least 6.8sec to qualify!
In his qualifying run:
60ft - 1.00sec
1/8mile - 3.93 @ 187.57mph
1/4mile 6.06 @ 220.55mph

yes, that's Trinidad & Tobago written on the side of the car! |

Congrats to Sheldon and his team on his achievement and hope that everything stays together for the rest of the weekend.
Interesting to note the difference between those who qualified and the first man that did not.
Hope somehow this can impact positively on the eventual outcome of racing in T&T. |
