Sheldon Bissessar broke his personal record this weekend in the US.
Having sold his rail car engine and vitals to Rishi Kanick and is now the Llumar Rail in T&T, Sheldon now pilots a 526 Hemi rail car with a 1471 blower putting out over 3000HP. He hopes to bring this same engine setup to his now empty T&T chassis eventually.

At Mountain Park Dragway, Clay City, Kentucky, the local Mopar Southern Classic ran off this weekend. Sheldon went up to Kentucky from Trinidad on Wednesday last to get the car ready at his crew chief's shop "IronMan Chassis" & "Aaron Sipple Engineering".

The car is being prepped for 1/4mile racing at Rockingham Raceway to be held next weekend. Even though most of the top racing at Clay City is 1/8mile, Sheldon took the opportunity this weekend to practice with 1/4mile runs at the event.

Sheldon's four 1/8mile runs were as follows:
1/8mile
4.18 @ 176mph - 1/4 7.2 @121mph <-even after shutting down at the 1/8
4.12 @ 176mph
3.98 @ 185mph
3.96 @ 184mph

His 1/4mile run:
60ft 1.01sec
1/8mile 3.99 @ 182mph
1/4mile 6.18 @ 214mph <- shut down 200ft before the finish

Sheldon said that he had to shut the car down early for safety reasons so the parachutes were actually already opened when he crossed the 1/4mile finish line which is why is trap speed is considerably slower than a usual low 6sec run.

Congrats to Sheldon and we look forward to seeing more record breaking times from him when he goes to race in Rockingham, North Carolina this coming weekend.

^ for that event in Clay City, SHeldon ran the fastest 1/8 mile time, the fastest 1/8 trap speed, the fastest 1/4mile time and the fastest 1/4mile trap speed - this also meant that he qualified 1st place for that event which was just a test for them before Rockingham NC on the 17th-18th October.

You can hear the announcer say "Sheldon Bissessar from Marabella, Trinidad" over the PA system.

thats not water, thats a little bit of alco so he can get it fired up....they usually run a mechanical fuel pump (belt driven) so they can't build enough pressure from cranking thats why they spray a little fuel into the intake to start it..

I was just scanning the net looking for pics of the past weekend racing involving Sheldon at Clay City(USA), and came across an article about the MOPAR southern classic meet. This is an excerpt. It goes to show that people do notice when local racers appear on their turf.

Quote:
Mopar Southern Classic
Mopar Southern Classic Event Coverage
Mountain Park Dragway of Clay City, Kentucky kicked off October and the first weekend of beautiful fall weather, with their annual Mopar Southern Classic and a great turnout of die-hard Mopar racers traveling from the Bluegrass Area and from as far as Canada. Along with a Quick 8 Race, Car Show, Swap Meet, and a special appearance from Sheldon Bissessar of Trinadad & Tobago testing his new Top Alcohol Dragster for the first time with Aaron Sipple of ASE & IRONMAN Chassis, the weekend was a definite crowd pleaser, full of activities for everyone.
Friday night and Saturday were kicked off with qualifying runs for the Quick 8 and Mopar races, with Glenn Robinson taking home the win for the Quick 8 by nights end with a 5.33 at 125mph over Billy Varner in the final. Jim Shehan got the green light and the win for Top ET, while Ryan Foley dominated in the Modified category, and Steve Foley accompanied him for the win in Super Street. On Sunday, Billy Varner came back out with a win in the Quick 16, and Ryan and Steve Foley doubled up for a second win each in Modified and Super Street. Lonnie Smith took over the win spot for Top ET, while Don Edelstein won the Super Stock Hemi category, Dirk Hale won the Max Wedge, and Brendon Owens took the win in Street Rage after Billy Varner red lighted in the finals. For a complete listing of the results at the Mopar Southern Classic visit Mountain Park Dragway's website at http://www.mpdragway.com/.
Sheldon Bissessar, a well-known racer in Trinidad & Tobago and on the Pro Top Outlaw Circuit here in the States, made a special appearance at the Mountain Park Dragway for testing out his new ride for the Rockingham Nationals coming up October 17-19. The Top Alcohol Dragster, tuned and completed by Aaron Sipple of ASE and IRONMAN Chassis, put on a great show, running a 3.96 in the 1/8 mile and a 6.18 in the ΒΌ mile after only a few passes.

--- and that is the mild tune. When we go Rockingham next weekend , it should be set up with a little more. With this set-up we can compete in NHRA races too (could not run the Nitrous car in NHRA).

Sheldon just sent me an e-mail he got from the tuner, short but sweet,

Bro its good that he getting international recognition, he could get a big sponser or get an off to drive for a big team. The 60ft wasn't that hot but after that the car was moving. Can't wait to see this thing fully dialed in
