S2 Motorsports Promotions Limited will be hosting an International Drag Racing Event on the 28 & 29 June 2008

UPDATE FROM MEETING HELD ON THURSDAY 12TH JUNE 2008

S2 Motorsports Promotions Limited together with 70+ DRIVERS held discussions at the meeting last night and has taken a decision to CANCEL the Events for the 28 & 29 June 2008. This decision was made on the basis of the Camden Track Rules agreed between TTASA & BRIKO after a meeting held on the 21st May 2008.

See letter below outlining the conditions that PROMOTERS have to follow:-

From the above letter, The two Major concerns for S2 & The Drivers is SPACE & TRACTION:- In the letter it bascially states that the current area being used for PITS, including the 2 Main entrances have been taken away and as a result, the Track is now shortened and to make matters worse, NO TRACKBITE is allowed anymore !

All of the above have been confirmed by Dr Baboolal from TTASA who was ask to be present at this Meeting to inform the Drivers of their (TTASA & BRIKO) decisions ....

From where this picture is taken, this shows the NEW START AREA FOR THE PITS ... We have lost all that area shown in the Picture ....

Update on Meeting held 28/5/08

The meeting commenced around 8:30pm with approximately 50 Drivers present. Garvin Ramdial opened the meeting with a 1 minute moment of silence for fellow Motorsport enthusiast Andy Ali (RIP) .....

Introduction of the S2 Motorsports Team was the next item on the agenda as there were some new faces ....

The following proposed Structure below of the 2 Day Drag event was agreed and committed by the Drivers and S2 Team:-

1) Sat 28th June: 12pm to 6pm Time Trials & Qualifying

2) Sun 29th June: 10am to 7pm Competition & Grudge

This meeting was an interactive session with the Drivers & S2 Team Member - Mervyn Bonnett (Safety Officer). Topics were discussed and Opinions/Suggestions from both the Drivers & Mervyn were agreed upon.

The following Topics were discussed in detail:-

1) Roll Cage Requirement
2) Kill Switch Requirement
3) Harness/Seatbelt Requirement
4) Racing Suit, Helmet & Fire Extinguisher Requirement
5) 1 Service vehicle allowed in Pit Area for Cars in Competition – 12secs & Faster
6) NO Service vehicle allowed in Pit Area for Cars in Competition – 13secs to 16secs
7) Burnout Area – 50ft from the Start Line and only One (1) Burnout allowed for Cars 9.99secs & Slower
Cool

Staging of Cars at the Start Lights
9) Braking/Stopping/Returning at the end of the Lanes
10) No Children under 10yrs allowed in the Pit Area
11) Proper Timing System with all information
12) Track Preparation on Right Lane

Some other information:-

Pit Passes:-
12secs & Faster: 1 Driver Pass, 4 Crew Pass
13secs to 16secs: 1 Driver Pass, 3 Crew Pass

Registration Fees - TTD $300.00 per Race Vehicle

Tents: TTD$250.00 per Tent

Spectator Entry Fees - TTD $20 on Saturday & TTD $50 on Sunday

There was also talk about The TIMING SYSTEM.. they should by then have a system in place than can run certain cars on DIAL IN RUNS.. ( NICE!!) AND hopefully give us (60ft/MPH etc) On both lanes..

This event should be Great.. seeing they are taking thier time and gathering info from competitors to help them pull off a great event..

I think this event would be a part of *TTASA CHAMPIONSHIP * points ... (lol Laughing

) No offence to S2 .. but it's just TTASA doesn't have their stuff (records) in order..

There was talk about TEAMS ( Apperance) you should look like a team rather than everybody all how ( simple matching T- shirts can prob do the trick)

Topic of Prize was mentioned..

Sunday Racing Starts @ 10 / 10.30 (can't rem)
