nothing for you to be sorry about.
2005 was kc turn, when i beat him using his wagon.
2006 was my turn, when scott dopson beat me using my car,
2007 was crix turn, when devi beat him using the evo.
was hoping you woulda continue the "fam'lee" tradition. |

^^
yuh now help me understand my lack of glory.
i put the car in 2nd and hardly ever have need to move the lever from there.
momentum is usually high enough to keep speed above 25k, and gear is long enough for most speeds i reach on track. 6200rpm at 94km/h. |

Well, yuh see, that's just it! On any solodex course, for my automatic, shifting is always between 1 and 2. I, however, do not find momentum like you (and this is where U will kill me... ) and sometimes find it necessary to downshift to 1st on tight corners because the engine does be bog down at 3000 rpm on 2nd gear, and pulls a lot better from the corner on 1st at 4500rpm.
U might see long gears as an asset, less shifting I suppose, but sometimes I wish I had a 5 speed gearbox with a closer 2 and 3 rd gear. I could keep the car in the powerband on 2nd gear better with a manual....rather than going back to 1st. 1 and 2 is just too far apart, dat transmission just holding back that engine. |

Rudman,
when last yuh heard your rear tires squeal / slide on a course?
get used to having the back slide slightly, and you'd realize you can make most turns in 2nd.
i was waiting on nati to tell me how the inside of his rear tires looked.
guess he didn't check them yet. shouldn't have typed that. |

i don't use handbrakes. should probably get someone to teach me how to do it properly.
approach turn, get off gas while turning steering, *back still rolling at original speed, front slowing...............slide.
while back is sliding, slowly but evenly apply throttle and steer where you want to go, back will be pulled into line eventually, but in the meantime, beautiful tire squeal.
now the above gets easier with practice, and there is some timing required. |
