Anyone knows how to get at the Rear Speakers on a Primera Wagon ... that is the ceiling mounted ones?
Do you need to remove the whole ceiling? ....or do the grill covers on the ceiling just pop off by prying it? |

the grill covers in the rear of the Vitara come off by turning it... you could give that a try..
i doubt you'd have to remove the whole ceiling.. |

The grills are rectangular in shape, so I doubt they would turn (but I can give it a try). I believe that it might be held in place by clips just need prying off.
I was hoping someone on the forum who worked on a primera wagon would be able to say...
Anyone else with other Nissan vehicles (suv's etc..) where the rear speakers are ceiling mounted? |

most of the times those grills either pop off or have to be screwed off.. try prying at it with a big flat blade screwdriver and see what happens..
pry as hard as possible and stop only before you feel something will break.. sometimes a fast jerk will get them free..
also, try prying at it slightly and looking under the grill (if possible) for any screws or clips that is holding it in place.. |

Sometimes the clips are at a angle where it hard to pull out,
there is a chance u might break something or thats how it supposed to come out.
look for stuff to unclip an thing an look for screws around it.
use light when lookin under it, try an spot the wat holdin ity back |

I was able to get at the speakers. It was really simple after all. In case anyone has to do it, you can refer to the pictures below.

MonsterPower,
The tool is made of hard plastic and is meant for working on moulding and trims so you wouldn't scratch/damage them. I also use it on appliances or anything I want to pry without causing scratches. Very useful for removing door skins and working in/under the dash...
I bought it from the US some time ago. I will get the brand for you and post it. |
