ppl Primera M6 tranny makin a real knocking noise and car feeling like if it on rough road wen ah pulling off (0-35Kms)an when driving at speeds of about 60-100 kms ah gettin a deafening noise and excessive vibration.
it soundin like somting mashin up inside dey an is only wen meh foot on d accelerator ah gettin d vibration and noise.
if d car coasting in neutral it runs smoothly, no noise and no vibration so i dont think it is the velocity joints.

if anybody experienced this problem or know a good tranny specialist pm me. rite now ah jus wanna find out wat goin on!

The inner cv joint usually vibrates at 80 km/h .It won't hurt to carry it to a cv joint shop for an inspection before you start interfering with your tranny.Sometimes the cup in the inner cv joint wears and causes too much backlash and hence the vibration and noises .You should also do an inspection on your front wheel bearings for any wear ,play or damage .

Do you have any problems with the tranny engaging?.........if so... then most likely you do have trany problems!

Symptom Condition Solution

Vibration that increases with speed or kicks in at different speeds Excessive play in the inner or outer joints or a bent driveshaft Replace worn shaft assembly

Clunking noise when engaging automatic transmission. Worn inner or outer joints. Replace worn shaft assembly.

Continuous knock at low speed Indicates a worn CV joint Replace worn assembly.

Continuous humming or growling noise. Inadequate lubrication on inner or outer joints (check boots for leaks). May also be worn gears or wheel bearings. Inspect CV joint - replace necessary.

Clunking noise during acceleration or deceleration. Worn inboard joint or differential problem in the transaxle. replace worn shaft assembly or repair transaxle as necessary.

Clicking or popping noise. Worn outer joint. Replace worn shaft assembly.

Shudder while acceleration or deceleration. Worn inner CV joint. Replace worn shaft assembly.

Cyclic vibration. Worn inner tripod CV joint. Replace worn shaft assembly.

replaced CV joints about two months ago at front wheel drive....will check the joints again but the car when in neutral and im rolling down a hill there are no noises, but as soon as i put it in drive and accelerate...noise and vibration....

wanna ask if the CV joints will only make noise when car is engaged in drive and under acceleration or will it make the noise even if it in neutral Question Question
dis ting is pressure!

hmm and i tell people stay away from m6 ehh

palllie all i can say is do no change ur rims remember cvt works on bands and these bands stretch whn u put bigger rims

look at it this way to pull of on a 17inch rims takes more momentum than pulling of on a 14inch rim weight difference
so stick to 15's and save the tranny and change ur oil on time along with filter

I have an m6 as well,, riding on 17's. Changed the CVT oil and filter. I think the recommended is 40000 km, and i ilso heard that this tranny works with belts.
So far so good,, no probs with it!!!
Looking for a good mechanic to handle any sr20 issues.. though

proper maintenance and timely maintenance is the key....

40,000 km - 50,000 km is good to change tranny fluid for the m6. i think in japan its 60,000 km but because of our climate 40- 50 is recommended.

sensors have a lifetime in those as well, around 3 yrs..

mines used to work well until.... Rolling Eyes some idiot crashed into it.

Hello gise ,my name is marcel and i am new(#Newbie) on this site.
I have a problem with a CVT tranny on a Nissan Serena.
To be honest ,the vehicle came for a starter problem and I fixed that and went for a test drive. And now it is stuck in first gear.I have looked at the speed sensors but they seam to work ok.Does somebody have a wiring diagram on this tranny.
anybody can tell me a maybe what can cause the problem.Question
After I saw that its stuck in 1st gear I also cleaned out the filter and put in new CVT nissan oem ATF oil.still no result.#banghead
Thanks in advance for any help .

INEZ,
You should let the mechanic check the filter inside the transmission.Maybe it is clogged with dirt and change the transmission fluid.Be sure to use the specified oil(CVT Nissan ATF).
If you did that allready then you should try to scan the transmission.
I think your problem is inside the tranny, slow in shifting is mostly caused by dirt or faulty sensors.
