single sub? its a matter of personal preference
but im assuming u want a sub that will go deviously low n be really loud ... theres only one solution imo
use multiple woofers cus lower in frequency u go the more air u need to move
the mtx will get much much louder than the xxx but the xxx will play notes the mtx can only dream of |

located that new pioneer 15" spl beast..
in the right enclosure it can be used as a daily beater as well.. |

true that... heard the 12" version in a box tuned low and it shook me up... real good...
the output of that sub can cause some serious head pains... i could only imagine what the 15" version will do... |
