it is, but you'd have to do the necessary mods to suit... like engine mounts, drive shaft etc etc

Yea, I know for a fact an RB25 will fit. The Cortina has a huge engine bay so lots of engines will fit in there.

Of course you'll have to cut the drive shaft... if not for length, then definitely for compatibility because the coupling at the RB25's gearbox wouldn't match the Cortina's. So you'd have to weld a RB coupling unto the Cortina's shaft.

As for rear disc brakes, I'm not aware of any readily available setup that would work without significant modification. If you have links in the UK then you're in luck because the setup from a Capri is a direct bolt-on to the Cortina's axle.

Theres a few over here with RB's JZ's and toyota V8 engines
though there seems to be a surge of 4.0l OHC and DOHC Ford Falcon inline engine conversions going on

I dont know what the firewall is like in the cortinas you get over there but in Australia they come factory with a 4.1l inline 6 and the firewall is recessed for this

This is a mk4 with a 4.0l dohc FPV falcon engine these are between 270 and 310 kw in unmodified tune

this one is pretty basic and is making about 600whp

Another MK4 this time with a SOHC 4.0l falcon inline 6 not a bad unit these make about 138-185kw in n/a form this ones making 500whp

This is a Mk3 with a 4.1 push rod engine this is what the aussie cortina had from factory made between 90 and 130kw N/A depending on year and compression
this ones making close to 1000hp and runs consistant mid 8 sec 1/4 passes
