Have u ever changed your internal fuel filter in the gas tank?

Ditto. Check/change the filter. I was unsuccessful at sourcing one for my Y11 from the firm/motorist.

Have u added anything new to your vehicle, like intake, exhaust or any thinGs such?

Try to reset the ECU, remove the battery pole for 15-20 minutes...someone who were havng an idle problem on a lancer in the tech forum did this to solve his problem.

What is the Problem?
Your car idles low or does it fluctuate from high to low and low to high?
Does the car stutter to shut down or not?
While idling low, is it a smooth idle or a rough idle?

These are very important questions here to help diagnose the problem. I think i can shed some light after u answer these questions.

No add ons the car stock. Tried the ecu reset already.

On park with the a/c on is @500 and with a/c of is below. When on drive without the a/c it does drop to like 200-250 and does give a lil shutter. But does not shut off. A guess this is why me engine mounts needed changing b/c of the low idle and the shakin. Low idle isnt smooth. The more accesories u use it does drop bad. and also when u come to stop to take a bump or such like.

I really wanted to try a brain box other than this one, to see if that is the problem.

How much HP you think you could get out of a QG1.6 Engine without turbo? NA only. For eg e-management, Exhast piping and cold air intake. What you'll think

Welcome! YD22 is still part of the QG family.

ArabKing2, You can achieve any amount of HP on any engine as long as you're willing to go all out and pay for it.

QG16DE=118hp(86KW)/ 143nm of torque
management system to the ECU=7-10hp
shaving the Gasket head in engine increases compression- Loses a bit of power at low RPM but gaining extreme power at a high RPM. Combine this tune up with PORT & POLISH= can get around 5-7hp
Cold Air Intake Kit= some people get 3hp gains on DYNO. Intake advertisement on the internet says 10hp, 15hp and even 25hp gains.
Headers with a collective tube (EXHAUST Piping) with correct size to accomodate engine=5-10hp. 15HP on a mustang v6 engine on DYNO.
(I DON'T THINK A MEASELY QG WILL GET 15HP FROM EXTRACTORS, lol).
Get Irridium plugs to assist in performance.

Now do the math there. These aren't accurate figures a QG can gain, only a DYNO can tell. But it sure look promising Very Happy

200-250rpm...that is really bad. I assume that your battery is good...2 yrs time it would of died already.
This problem sounding like a bad Cam sensor but the scans would most likely picked it up...how strange.

There's a garage called Hansraj Auto Garage in Mission RD Freeport, he does scan for only $150. I suggest that you contact him at 717-7258 or 306-1676 and do a re-scan again and let him check out your fuel system and Throttle body. Check out yuh plugs and let hm check out the whole injector body inside out.

All that jazz may not net you much hp gains on a dyno....if done as a local custom job. And as a side note...ppl put on an SRI (claiming it's a CAI) and then experience a loss in hp from the concical filter pulling in hot(ter) air from the engine bay Rolling Eyes

Properly tuned headers in theory would net some good tq gains...but do they even make those for these cars. Folks have to realise...come on..the QG is an econo engine first and foremost. Good parts aren't gonna be available readily.

I honestly think the QG18DD is the best out of the box though...Direct injectrion with an improved intake manifold setup (IIRC it splits into two going to each cylinder). Gives good top end w/o bogging down too mcuh down low. Also makes more hp than the QG18DE.

Maybe some good headers on that would make a decent improvement...... Embarassed

Thanks Fellas. The info is great. They are a few mods out for the QG engines but not any big thing. eg ECU, Turbo kit and other stuff. I do agree somewhat with knight1. The QG engine is a econo engine. But come on Nissan had to have some sort of performance parts for these engines. I dont believe that they aren't any big mods out there for this engine. Even the new Nissan March has mods. A smaller engine to the QG. A 1.3, its just wrong. Imagine a 1.3 blowing you out on the highway. They even have third party companies making superchargers for the march engines. It just wrong. But thanx fellas

^^If it's RORO, the cost is based on the Year of Manufacture. NOT the year of registration locally....If it's local (as in your case), YOM and Registration date might be about the same, so it doesn't matter. I confirmed this with licensing office last week when I sold my 02 AD Wagon.

Transfer was 2K TTD.

Hey i almost forgot to mentioned the MSD Ignition system, this alone improves power tremendously. You will need the DIS2...this works with coils on plug engines without a distributor.
