my padna told me connecting my ps3 to a ups will firetruck it up. is this true? connect through a stick protector? or throught the ups? |

Neither.
Line conditioner
This device takes the electricity from your outlet and Either boosts it or trims it to match the ideal voltage.
it also protects against Surges and other electrical glitches.
Avg price for a good Tripplite 1200 watt - $700+
and is ur tv that you need to protect moreso than your ps3 |

rodfarva,lawd more money hoss where can this be found? how come the ups not good enough tho? ive been using it for my PC and well i had a extra one that im using for the tv right now. |

Most computer stores sell them. Also, from my experience, most stores that sell HDTVs usually tell you that you need one.
Well, a ups does suppress power surges, but it does not protect against dips and consistently low voltage.
I might be sounding overly fanatical, but all the computers, TVs, PS3, HT and the like at my house are protected with line conditioners.
Ive used UPS's before, and still suffered hardware failures.
But the Voltage at my home is not great...we get a lot of dips.
But look at it this way... you just spent ovr $7000.00 in new electronics.... whats $700.00 to ensure they dont get fried? |
