my padna told me connecting my ps3 to a ups will firetruck it up. is this true? connect through a stick protector? or throught the ups? |

Neither.
Line conditioner
This device takes the electricity from your outlet and Either boosts it or trims it to match the ideal voltage.
it also protects against Surges and other electrical glitches.
Avg price for a good Tripplite 1200 watt - $700+
and is ur tv that you need to protect moreso than your ps3 |

Most computer stores sell them. Also, from my experience, most stores that sell HDTVs usually tell you that you need one.
Well, a ups does suppress power surges, but it does not protect against dips and consistently low voltage.
I might be sounding overly fanatical, but all the computers, TVs, PS3, HT and the like at my house are protected with line conditioners.
Ive used UPS's before, and still suffered hardware failures.
But the Voltage at my home is not great...we get a lot of dips.
But look at it this way... you just spent ovr $7000.00 in new electronics.... whats $700.00 to ensure they dont get fried? |

aight fellas, thanks to ah fellow tuner, i bought SF4 at a great price today. 
also, can you use the headset to sheit talk with players while online with SF4 ? or no?
another thing, well when i bought the tv at circuit zone, they said that i also have to buy the ups with it. i never really had a prob with power troubles in my house, always used the regular stick type protectors. saturday, if not, then monday ill get the line conditioner.
ill be practicing tonight for the SF4 lixxxx |
