Nice to hear the project coming along. My advice is to go with an engine that was not used locally though. Knowing the way trini's drive, especially if they know that they going to be selling the engine soon and if you not going to be putting it in right away. At least if you buy it from a dealer you can get 1 month warranty.
Turbo connections has some good engines and reasonable prices, talked to the guy already and he real cool, offers a decent warranty on his stuff. If price is your major concern foreign used center in curepe has some bess prices but the warranty sucks.
Saw a sunpro 3 in one gauge set up for $400 brand new, pm me if you interested. Hopefully my project should begin pretty soon as well. |

| some thing you could experiment with is putting some sort of extra heat shielding by where the exhaust passes by the engine sump. Iam using lagging but still waiting for my straightner to finish my vehicle (these fcukers does take long)so when i get it back i will update you |

Right now... Shock.
yes it is on the list of upgrades to be done.
I want to upgrade the brakes and wheels first though.
I was wondering if anybody ever upgraded to extractors on a BT.
I would like to get thicker extractors when ever I am doing the exhaust.
Also, I know most the extractor go 4-2-1, how hard will it be to do a dual exhaust? so it will be 4-2, and does it really make a difference or should just thicken the single one out exhaust? |

there are basically two exhaust types for the 20 valve, signified at the ends
i) Single exhaust end
ii) Dual exhaust ends
both are 3" pipes but the dual splits into two 2 1/2" pipes into two different sized barrels at the ends. Why different sized, one works all the time(right side) and the other partially (left side) and will increase with rpm (did not believe this until one morning left car idleing for about 5 min then saw more vapour coming from the right than the left as well as quantity displaced)
Perferably try to get the original cause it is tuned. also the flex joints are just below the extractors and it is solid all the way to the rear, try to get the original brace below the cross member it helps |

you might find the foot rest in a scrapyard. My ae 80 was originally manual and it never had a foot rest . Not too sure if the ae80's actually came with those. |
