While heading to South today I noticed several massive pieces of earth moving equipment doing work on the stage.
first thing hit mih, "ah boy, TTRC wukking"

So I call Flat100,
"woi, ah see yuh doing some nice wuk on the Zig Zag stage"

"hoss, wat you talking bout?"

"iz not you who handling all de wuk going down on the stage !!??"

"hoss, I eh have a clue wah going on, like de gov't give out we stage???"

"shite !!!

"aaite, when I coming back from South I will investiquire it"

"hoss, call mih back when yuh know something"

So I go handle mih biz in South.

On the way back up I stop.

The entrance from the Highway side have a steel light pole and a greasy vicisous kewlie guarding the entrance.

But being in the construction biz and driving a 4wd the Pit Bull approach mih, "yuh iz one ah de surveyors!?"

"nah, I just here to see how far alyuh reach already"

"allyuh gov't ppl doh lapse nah, we only start yesterday and allyuh dun reach for update? ne howz, pass from the race track end, we eh wah nobody coming in from here"

So with tears forming I drive down to the "race track" end, first thing I see is One Foot's dream, a dirt ramp, stacked about 12' high pointed south .

The round about has be desecrated, the tyres have been moved so trucks and heavy equipment can get into our stage.

So I drove in, the roads have been widened, stakes with numbers plotted all over, bulldozers, excavators and sereval other pieces of equpment operated by some of the most Debbenite looking indivduals

So many memories rush through a man skull, but soon I am faced with a white Frontier driven by a very dark complection(black) Debbenite

SO I approach "mamo" with a croaky voice(he eh know ah man wah cry)

"Morning, wah going here today?"

"well sir" he replies "we cut most of the profiles and we plotted all the accesses, we cutting the drains today” he stops, hawks and spits, then continues; ” ah feel by tomorrow we could call in more material so we could do some laying down for the roads”

All this eh help me, I still eh know wha going on, so I get desperate.

“I from the Rally Club, we normally race here, I saw the equipment so I stopped to find out what’s going on”

“So yo eh with the Ministry ?” asks the fella

“No, I just wanna know what you doing”

“Oh, allyuh put up dem tyre on the next end?”

“yea, we do dat”

“Cuz, well allyuh better come for them tyres cause you eh go get to drag here again; gov’t assign here for agricultural development, we hadda finish this by the end of next month so the farmers could start movning in”

At this time ah Chindian belly get weak, man wanna cry, laugh, cuss, but ah hold it together.

“what about across the road(Snake), allyuh going over there next ?”

“nah dey eh tell we nutting yet, wah happen, allyuh does run dey to ?

“yea”

“it have a one foot fellas dat does be with allyuh to?”

“yea, Barry”

“he F*&%ing crazy cuz, ah see de man crash in Cedar Hill……….”

So the dialogue ended, I jump in mih trusty Ranger and headed out, took some last pictures, drop a few donuts and ride.

On the highway I call Flat100,
“woi Flat, Bench here”

“yea hoss, wah de score”

“jed, daiz it, the gov’t give out de land, stage lost”

“ahhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh……………….click”

So the last Zig Zag stage seem to have been the LAST Zig Zag.

Treasure your videos and memories.

It was good while it lasted.

I've just come from the ZIG ZAG stage and my heart drop to my big toe, tears forming and a cold chill ran down my spine.
I stand there at the roundabout for 20 mins in silence wishing we could do somthing to keep this stage but the only thing came to mind is to take the jump and go round the roundabout to head to the finish only to see the 45 deg left in a state so i had no choice but to head east back to the loop, then do a couple donuts then wave to the stage good by.
This is part of my life taken from me whaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

in Bim alot of the stages are run on private farmers lands and in Jamaica, through a bauxite mine and a huge orchard which is all privately owned.Could Trini land owners be so forgiving......i hope so.
