just a couple pics of the blacktop 20 valve install.
project: install a 4AGE fwd engine into a locost, RWD.
so far the engine is in. we used a T50 gearbox out of the popular AE86 drift car. starter had to be removed and placed below extractors. the bell housing was a bit tricky to get. we fianlly got one out of a PAT old charmant. the housing matches bolt for bolt. the starter was out of an AE80 3A engine. I'm leaving the same 4:4 diff out of the escort. hoping to be ready for dex on the 3rd......
stumbling blocks: setting up the piping for the radiator, clutch system- cable or hydraulic?

the radiator complex is easily solved by side or rear mounting a Civic 2 row aftermarket radiator.
if you side mount or rear mount you will help your weight distribution.
do you plan on rallying this car against zak ? |

IRS = Independent Rear Suspension.
I don't see why it won't handle properly with a solid rear axle.. Guess we'll see next dex. |

sorta solved the radiator issue......will post pics tomorrow of the rad install. may still need some opinions on it though.
the thought of rallying it crossed my mind. but i've seen some surfaces and i think in Trinidad its a bit too risky |

proven over and over again in the UK
They become very twitchy with more power and solid rear axle. The minimal weight means you need to always have a optimized contact patch when you are cornering, to make most of the available grip. IRS will do a better job of that than a solid rear axle |

yeah, i remember kamikaze's problem with the b13. i was there the night before rally, us both armed with hacksaws. we cut out every piece of electrical from that b13. after the carb install, he has no problems.....
you walk with carbs to solodex, i 'll walk with a hacksaw |
