|
|
| Hey ppl i`m in desperate need of some help here. I have a P11, sr20ve engine...the car is parked up most of the time..I just start it now and then to make sure everything works. Recently sometimes when the car is idling the temp raises to about 3/4 or a little above that just before the fan comes on and drops back down to normal working temp after. It keeps doing this in cycle and I don`t know what could cause it. Then again sometimes the car works fine. If i turn on the AC the temp remains on normal working temp. The radiator nor engine has any leaks, I use coolant, the fans work and I tried changing the rad cap but still works the same way. Any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks. |

| Ok I not to long take out the thermostat and it not corroded..almost looks new. I tested it in some boiling water and it opening and closing. Where would the coolant temp sensor be located and how do I check to see if it operating normal? |

| sometimes these things do go bad (the sensor) and may need changing.. i cant tell u off hand where the sensor is in the VE motor, i'll have to wait till my bro comes home dis evening to check it.. but its a two pin sensor, when u unclip the jack, both fans should come on when the engine is on. look behind the engine close to the water pump side, but on the intake manifold side.. |

| these wont be the 2 speed fans? The temp sensor is easy to find, the ve i have here, its on the back by the throttle body area, you'll see a single wire screwed on one of the pipe thingy |

| I know where the temp sensor is...A-1 Superior Tech is not the single wire one that is the temp sensor that one is the temp sender unit it have a 2 wire unit next to it, that one is the temp sensor unit. But how the hell you does know if that bad and causing the problem? Is there a way to test it? |

| OK well i understand that both fans are working but what I'm saying is that the normal cooling fan that would be working alone when the ac is off might be coming on too late...... |
