Came out of the car today and saw that the tail lamps and the stop lamp are stuck on.

Switched the car on and off same thing.
Armed/ Disarmed alarm system nothing.

Removed Tail Lamp fuse - lights stay on.

Only after disconnecting the battery did they come off.

This only started happening this evening.

Anyone has any idea what could cause this?

there's a small rubber bushing on the brake pedal that presses against a switch that turns on and off the brake lights. this bushing cracks and breaks out over time and the switch remains in the on position. get a flashlight and look at the brake pedal under the dash and you will see the switch. this switch operates just like the ones on the doorjambs, when the button is extended the light is turned on.
easiest fix is to get a small nut and bolt that fits in the hole and adjust it so that it turns off the switch only when the pedal is in the full up position.

good info but be careful with the bolt and nut fix
if you don't know what you are doing
it will cause the brakes too lock up and bind
some people when they get this problem they will go by the electrician
and he will solve it
then they will come by me complaining about binding brakes
you can get the washer but those nasty.............................
well last time i paid $45 dollars for it and they were laughing at me cause i
took out $10 dollars to pay
i never expected to pay so much for something like that
no way

NOOO!!!
Nut and bolt could damage the switch if not installed properly. They does sell that by the parts place boi. Just buy one and press it back in, $3.00 I think.
