I've got a 2000 model Opel astra and the a/c is giving me hell....wen the engine is on and i turn on the a/c it cools for like 5 secs an den the compressor clicks off and only blower air blowing in...wen i switch off the a/c switch an switch it back on the same ting happen...cools for 5 secs an compressor clicks off.....anyone kno wat can be the problem here?? a few ppl have tried an failed to fix the problem.

the gas in the system is low, so when you turn it on the safety switch trips off the compressor so you do not burn it....the gas in the system also works as a lubricating agent for the compressor. all thats wrong is you need to top up the gas in the system

technicians checked the gas and it was at the normal level...dey also checked for leaks and dere wasnt any.....can it be an electrical problem?

if you are SURE there is enough gas in the system, just connect the compressor directly to the battery to see if it stays on. then you have an electric problem with your switch or something like that.

I can't think of anything else. good luck
