morning
well this morning checked oil and water as normal each morning..
all levels good.no leaks, engine bay clean.
When started;the oil light didnt come off.Cut off engine.turn on the ignition;all lights came off except the oil light.
re-check oil in both tranny an engine...both good.
What can this be.
the car home, didnt drive at all. |

| No oil pressure. Your pump is probably gone. |

| yeah boy, thais a hard luck. Get a tow to the mech. At least yuh wast driving when it went. And your habit of checking the levels probably saved your engine. |

| Well if the engine was out, it might very well just be the sensor man. |

| Oil unit/sensor first culprit in that case then oil pressure issues. |

if the sensor wire comes loose and touched any grounded part of the engine bay it will cause the light to switch on...this has happened to me before after an engine wash
check for the simpler possibilities first
I'm assuming this may well be right, since anything else may have well triggered an error code as would have been indicated by your CEL |

^^ Agreed. Its always useful to start small and work your way forward. Check the oil pressure sender unit for loose connections. I don't play with oil related issues at all('cept meh lil leaks and thing ),so if in doubt DO NOT DRIVE THE CAR! |

Ok.morning Saturday mech. came home...
Push the car in garage...drain out oil....pull down sump...
take out the check valve;which i didnt know the pump had;took sum oil in a container, hold it where the pump does be pullin the oil..tumbble jus abt a 1/4..oil was pulled up..so pump was workin..*wipes beads of sweat from face*
the problem was the check valve was sticking..was washed out..sand down with very fine sand paper..washed again..an put back up..soo now it workkin like normal..
The Check had sum slush..
strange cuz i change oil every 2.5-3mths.... |
