Recently bought DLAA fog light kit for local NZE (1NZ-FE). I noticed that under the car, there were already cables and connectors for the fogs (at least I asssuming that what they are there for).

What I want to know:

1. How do I get access to the part of the dashboard to install the switch?

2. Did these cars come pre-wired for fogs regardless of whether you chose the option? If yes, then I really don't need the relay, etc. All I need to do is get access to the dash and the cable and connector should be there for the switch.

3. If no, does anyone have install instructions? The instructions that came with the kit were scanty to say the least.

4. Should I use silicone to seal the space between the fogs and the holes in the bumper? Is it necessary?

5. Any other info would be appreciated.

Thanks.

1. not too certain but the foglight switch may be part of the light stalk so you have to buy it.
2. most are prewired you will still need the relay for the fuse box
3. those are useless if you use the stock wiring
4. not needed looks messy IMO
a. i eh know Laughing

Well the DLAA kit says that no modifications are needed, so I was assuming it would be a simple plug and play thing (like a HID kit). It comes with its own connectors etc, but I cannot seem to find where to plug them in.

And I don't want to cut any wires. I am hoping that someone else has installed this kit and can provide assistance or at least provide a wiring diagram.

Did a good set of searching online, but info on this model NZE is scarce. Lots of info on the altis, even found info for the 2001-2002 models. but nothing for this car.

So I emailed the supplier asking for detailed instructions, but they was just told some nonsense that their instructions were general and I should contact an electrician/professional to get the lights to work. I wished that they would have put something like that on the box.

I scoured the net looking for any kind of wiring info for the car and after no luck, I finally decided to contact TTTL asking if they sell the FSM's. Of course they said no. I really don't know why this information would be should a secret. The more information available for my car, the longer that I am likely to keep it.

Anyways, as luck would have it I did got a hold of the manuals. Excellent information, detailed coloured wiring diagrams too.

Now to finish this project!
