Didn't take any Images so I'll just do a writeup...

DISCLAIMER: As always you do this at your own risk of scrathing your headlights...

This will apply to all cars with yellow dull looking headlamps. Works really well on Nissan Almeras (test car)

Well Bought the car today and realised how horrible the lights were... Was considering to replace them, but I had a crazy thought of using the autosol polish on it...

1. Clean the light of any dirt, etc.

2. TEST ON INCONSPICUOUS AREA FIRST! The edges or the top where the bonnet covers are good areas.

3. Squeeze a minute amount of autosol on a small piece of soft paper towel or cloth

4. RUB LIGHTLY! and evenly along the test area. You will hear it being abrasive, but once you don't rub it hard don't worry about it. Eventually it will begin to feel a bit smooth...

5. Take another soft, dry cloth and immediately rub out the area. if on a white cloth, you will see the nasty yellow film in the cloth.

By now your section should look clear as if brand new. If so, go ahead and complete the entire light. You can even give it a second, softer rub to smoothen it out a bit more...

This is one hell of a product. It also works on your rough windscreen. After time, even in the case of a repainted vehicle, overspray can cause the windshield to have a rough surface, which also prematurely wears out your wipers.

Take some autosol and rub the glas... you will hear and feel the abrasion, but will smoothen out as you rub. Then as in the headlights, take a soft cloth and rub the polish off. Wash the glass with soap when done.

You'll feel and see the difference...

Then props go to you and all who did...

I tried it on a whim and was surprised at the results. I always used it to clean my windscreen on all my cars...

Makes the stains just run in fear eh? Laughing Colgate with flouride HAHAHA!

But Yep... toothpaste can be also used to clean jewelry as it's a light abrasive so I can see it doing that as well...

this is true was about to purchase new headlights when my bro-in-law hand me a magical tube of autosol.

almost the same procedure as MISHI,

1. clean headlights with soap and water.
2. used a baby diaper cloth to apply autosol in dabs.
3. gently rub autosol over entire surface of the headlight with diaper cloth.
4. used a ocsilating polisher with the buffing foam pad to work the autosol in.
5. hand buff with clean diaper cloth.
saw a significant difference after the first time but still repeated this after every wash for a month to make sure to maintain glossy look and now headlights are looking and working wonderful. Wink

did same process on my fogs also.
but not the same effect on glass as plastic.

Metal polishes contain very fine abrasive particles which make them an excelllent polish for glass. This will "Eat" throught the yellow very quickly and give quick results. however, keep in mind this is made for metal, so it is quite abrasive to the plastic lens. A plastic polish, though will take some more work, is better for the headlight, as it contains plymer particles that are less abrasive to the lens. My 2c.
