Any turbo owner will tell you, if you want to safely increase boost, get a larger intercooler Smile Just don't over do it!

What is the stock boost on them Navara?

Not so at all.
Any increase in boost gas or diesel should be compensated for by a 1:1 increase in fuel. Now the Navara I'm not familiar with but it uses a direct injection diesel right?
Unlike a gas powered car there is no compensation you can do. I had friends raise the boost on their older model diesel engines and boy did it smoke. The pump was advanced and eventually lead to shortened engine life.

now that makes sense. the thing is these vehicles carry boost sensors and is electronically controled direct injection so if it is the boost is raised then the computer should automatically increase fuel. it has been claimed by other tuners that the difference between the mid-power 104kw engine and the 126kw high-power engine is the turbo. i am still searching for more info on that, but if it is true then i would assume that the increase of boost on the mid-power engine should not cause any harm. Help?

Correcto!!

The ecu will adjust the amount of fuel needed if you were to increase the boost. I don't see any harm with you increasing the boost but you should research.

When Nissan turbo the SR20VE in the XTRAIL GT...Nissan upgraded the coolant passage way and did minor mods to the new version SR20VE 2001. Just supposedly Nissan did a few mods to the high powered Navara engines vs the mid-powered ones, and lets say you raise boost to 7 psi without any sort of mods; there might be a possibility that damage CAN be done...
So i recommend you do some searching Cool

And trust me, you don't want to damage you diesel engine....those engines are HEADACHE!!

Yes it is true if you raise the boost, the computer will automatically adjust the fuel.

But personally it works best if you upgrade the chip.

It would to within a certain SMALL tolerance , which is usually just to about 2-3psi more.
What flow are your diesel injectors rated at? Is it even possible for them to increase flow as boost increases?
That's why you need too do supporting mods when increasing boost- gas engines usually use a piggy back.

Correcto as well...the ecu will only pump a certain amount of fuel.
So if my boy looking to raise high boost with a stock fuel pump and stock injector, that would cause trouble, even possible detination.
An ecu upgrade is a good idea!
