sooooooo............assuming the HSR is resurrected through an act of God, where would it fall, given it weighs around 900 kilos, was dynoed at 135 at the wheels (134 torque), and has bone stock suspension, solid rear axle, rear drum brakes, carbs etc?????

Interesting. Straight line power has little to do with a solodex course in my opinion.

I was thinking it should be based at least in some way on tyre type as well as power and suspension upgrades.

I remember I attended one meeting in valpark a few years ago and there was a HEATED argument about R compounds versus street tyres in diff categories. I don't want to open no can of worms here, but just sharing some thoughts.

years ago r compound meant a class bump

i agree straight line perfomance is not a good measure
however unless you have FREE dyno days how else do you calculate pwoer to weight ratios especially on cars that are not stock

It was a class bump until the 13" V700s used by the circuit cars became available at a low price. I guess it was then seen as a cheap mod that everyone could do (cept people who couldn't fit 13" rims) and that's why it was allowed without class bump.

So.. now that the price gone back up are they gonna be a class bump in 09?

these two things are the same.

i always use my experience to clarify.
Auto car did 75whp, swapped in g/b, car did 84whp. changed front coil springs to those from a manual because of the weight difference.
basically my car still handles the same, with a little bit more grunt.

But wagonrunner, thais what the man saying, they are the same, but it needs to be independently ascertained as to the actual power to weight of the vehicle!

but u running victors on the jep Wink

the price still doesn't warrant a bump as they still cheapper than a good set of new street tires.

both 13's@450.00 and 15"s@600.00

2400 for a set of 15's is not a "cheap" upgrade when they may only last 4 events

i personally perfer to spend that amount on a mod/upgrade i can enjoy for more than jsut 4 days

if they only last four events, better improve your driving first, then look for "performance" upgrades after.

In terms of solodex it's probably the best modification you can make.
