well.....they want me to move up to the ss class.

but i'm left undecided.

pros:
1) i will be competitive against current competition
2) i will be alowed to upgrade power, drive train & suspension
3) esp class already decided for 2008
4) safe position in 2008 shoot out

cons:
1)course design that alows straight line acceleration
2)faster cars (15.5-14.00 1/4mile) entering the SS class
3)rule changes - tires, suspension.
4)not being able to go back down to esp if i getting a sound cut arse from bill and others.

so my question to the executive is .......

will you be forcing me to move up or am i getting to make this decision on my own?

solodex 5 is less than 3 weeks Confused

But I thought you had openly defy any class bump until next year?...... Laughing

What's the point in bumping you from now, this year, when 4 competition events have already passed? Would your points and trophies be redistributed if going to the SS class this year?

Is there an official protest from someone, or the executive just nudging you?

Will you have to dyno the car?

Personally, I think U should move on up to SS...........just to see the worried look on Bill's face would be priceless!..... Mr. Green

U have a budget set aside for further mods on the Iggy? This would be important, make sure U have 15 x7" rims and at least $3000 for tyres alone (if U ent get any Sponsors)

Cris whats the problem here..... in a nutshell u have a competitive SS car hands down... do u want to continue racing against cars and drivers that cannot beat u or wouldnt u rather challenge yourself in the ss class ?....and btw i believe if u were in ss right now u would be leading. We set equal courses throughout the year, ie at the end of the year there would have been 3 fast and 3 tight so its fair to everyone...Ryan P and myself volunteered to compete in the EP class 2006 wth his GTI and my Mirage because their was no one in EP except Barry M......so take it as a sign of greatness Laughing and volunteer to move up nex year....btw i driving the Mirage in SS nex year Smile

^^^ a very valid question Rudi....
Devi...Gen know you driving the Mirage next year? ...kidding!!!

Amir I say stay in ESP for the rest of the year and do some mods and join SS next year....from the results it obvious you outgrown the competition in ESP....Try something new for the following year.....new competition might keep you more on your toes and make the fight more interesting .....

Amir, what do the rules say?
To me it is all about where your car falls according to it's classification.
If you are a better driver than the other guys in your class, I think they should be challenged to step up to your level. If you go up to SS, then they have no benchmark...
I cannot see why a driver must be penalized or pressured to 'move up' because of his skill.....what happens if you dominate SS, then you get bumped to SCCA??????

does this not apply to Amir? Does he always win?

As far as I remember, the rules of classing have to do with the power to weight ratio of a car and the quarter mile time. This is the rule, we should stick to it.

As far as I know competition rules were set at the start of the year, why BEND them now? To suit opinions? For the sake of improving the spectator value?

Putting Amir in SS is a subjective decision not related to the rules.

Are we saying that CARS/Solodex is now a driving school? Are we attending a class where the driving instructor says "Hey, you there, go run with the faster cars!" for the sake of improving a driver?

And if by opinion, the issue is that Amir is too competitive then what about the impending challenge from Ryan Peyrau in the Suzuki Swift Sport? He came close to Amir's times at Dex4.

Let Amir revisit the dyno, the 1/4 mile and the scale and see if he needs to be re-classified.
