with the right tuning, you can have both.. also, you can use the variable port tuning (see DD audio tech section) so you can easily switch to both SPL / gallery at one show..
Rovin's set is monster loud at SPL, but i highly doubt he can maintain those SPL levels for music.. same for 2lo2flo..
Mohan's set is loud for SPL as well (he has hit in the 152's before) but can maintain those levels longer due to his system design criteria..
if you are planning to try both at a show, make sure your mids are either easily removable OR placed where they fall within your IDBL class of choice..
(it would be fun to see the Black Primera beaten at both SPL and Judged at a single show!) |

^^
Good luck with that. It's not as easy as you think. Once you get more experienced with SPL you would understand what i mean

| Since the purpose of the install is gallery i dont know how close i'm gonna get to that 160, but yuh know, im sure if this equipment was in Rovins hand he wont have a problem getting it, so we're gonna try hard for it. |

at d Mk finals last yr i used d very same box\sub tuning for both SPL on d meter & gallery in d arena , i think that day i did 150.7 at d meter & went in d arena & got a 3rd place in judge , that day was only 1 other guy with less power than d orion 2500d i had at d time while d other rides had 3000d & 5000d atomic ...but i held my own & got some compliments from ppl considering i using d spl tuned box & less power than others ...i will do it again for this yr's MK finals
fuzz_174, is right though , after u pass that 150 mark in spl its a whole new level & gets harder to go up , as u might know a 3db difference such as say 150 & 153 is considered twice as loud on d meter , it eh easy to gain 3 , iirc only ride that does 160 or very close to it is d spongebob march , i think they using 3 of d 15" 8000spl pioneer with 3 7k cactus amps & u can see that vehicle is built 4 spl
not discouraging u but just giving u a idea how hard it is to reach that level ...
BP always sounds really good & he recently changed up his bass which sounds harder than ever so u really have ur work cut out 4u but it can be done ..... |

Hi guys ,
Yesterday i stopped at a petrol station to fill up and went in the quick shop to see what magazines are out , i was reading a local car magazine here in South Africa and saw the results and a small write up of this show.
This is a South African magazine , and i am glad to see that the results of this show is in there.
I will try and scan a pic in the next few days. |

Hi guys , i thought i would also just quote from what the editor wrote about this show...so here goes..
“Okay I didn’t realize how widely spread the car audio competing world spread..until now. It took place on the 8th of August. The Annual MK Promotions Motor Show and Wheelbarrow Sound off was held at Skinner Park in the Caribbean. The day was absolutely packed with ear shattering volumes being hit and dB infused fanatics running around , trying to get their cars tuned to the best decibel readings. Here are a few of the results from the show illustrating what the overseas guys are hitting…
This just goes to show that we South Africans are not messing around when it comes to our sound and competing with the lads overseas.Keep the South African flag.”
