I think Banzai was jus playin up......who wouldn't know what that is
Was actually the world's fastest car when released, and last front engined ferrari for a veeeeeeeery long time
The 365 made its mark in US competition under the NART banner (NOrth American Racing Team)
The street cars were supposed to be a handful, with particularly heavy steering
The 'Daytona' name was not official, but after the car won the Daytona 24, the name was given to it by the press, the fans, everybody........a hard act to follow, but Ferrari proved once again it was one step ahead of the evolutionary scale, with the mid-engined 512BB, one of the meanest beasties ever |

But being as I am, I really don't like the crowd that honda attracts nowadays. None of them (and I say this with confidence), have any clue or desire to get a clue about Honda's history in motorsport. |
Honda races?
Strong words, especially the "None ... with confidence". I kind of think there are ppl. of the elk you speak of in all automotive camps. But I won't not enjoy a marque because of who drives it. If that were the case, no one would drive Porsches again
Banzai, how about it in this flavour?:

nah.....nope nope ....still dont like it...i find that alot of cars that this "incomplete" rear end.....i dont know what it is ....the design is jsut flawed.....take an Audi A$....the design of th rear lights (2K5 to ak7 model) it looks like they really didint know what to do with the rear lights...now that aside..i adore the A4 and even more so teh 2k* model....but in each car..t.heres some aspect of the deisgn that's flwed to me..... |

I find that the honda that was originally being discussed is a reflection of the concept of a sports car of that era, and some years to follow. Basically an engine with a cockpit behind it (think RX7 first gen, early Z cars, porche (yeah, i know, the engine in the back))
It not too bad actuallyIf the windscreen was more raked instead of looking like Nicole Dwyer forehad, it would almost pass for a ripoff of a Z car. |

I agree that it reflects the design of the time - a bit e-type-ish if I dare say so in fear of damnation from the Stig, as in:
Seeing this was around b4 the 240z, I would say the rip off worked the other way around. But b4 you all get your knickers in a knot, the 240Z looks way better than the S800 coupe. The roadster is a different story.
Banzai, when a roadster has an overly raked windshield, it suggests that it was not designed as a roadster but came out as a coupe that someone decided to chop off the top afterwards. The dash then is very far away and less functional IMO.
Take for instance the Datsun Sports 1200 also know as the Fairlady (1.2L).
This I like too with it's 48hp and all. The S800, with its 791cc engine cranked out 70hp at 8000 rpm by comparison |

sirbill, I was talking about looks, not about which came first, but point taken....car history is not my forte.
70hp at 8000 rpm.....very little has changed at honda I see.....
But seriously, would like to see the torque figures for that.
The 1200 is the one with a little bit of a trunk you talking about? |

Torque, what the heck is that?
Or how about the original S(sports) 2000 from Datsun, the evolution of the Fairlady:
135hp, or 150 in competition trim. not bad for 1967. The MGB's original 1.8L B Series (honda hoe?) was producing 95 by comparison. |
